The aim of this research was to examine whether trust influences the functioning of various forms of collective entrepreneurship in rural areas. The study focused on organizations which are most common in rural Poland: agricultural producer organizations, rural women’s circles, and local action groups. Hence, the survey sample included people engaged in these types of collective entrepreneurship. Data collection was based on a standardized questionnaire distributed online utilizing the computer-assisted web interviewing method. The statistical analysis of the empirical material obtained from 132 respondents involved Pearson and Spearman correlation and principal component analysis. Collaborative Networks are becoming ever more important as a lunchpad for the achievement of competitive advantages and for the creation of socio-economic benefits. According to the relational view theory, joint efforts can indeed generate relational rents. However, task coordination is not a sufficient means for value creation. Indeed, Collaborative Networks have to create a link between several aspects, such as trust, culture of collaboration, knowledge sharing, managerial processes, incentive systems, ethical code and so on in order to create cooperation and, thus, value. Aim of this work is to analyze how these aspects affect each other and how they affect value creation within collaborative networks. In order to do so, we develop a model, based on UML and e3value, in which the main factors impacting on value creation and value exchanges within CNOs are represented. After the description of the model, we analyze a case study of a CNO.

This research aims to bridge the gaps in the relationship of entrepreneurial orientation to marketing performance, as some research yielded contradictory results. This research used a survey method distributing questionnaires with open and closed-ended statements to small and medium industries. Also, convenience sampling was applied with a sample size of 100 respondents from representatives of small and medium industries in the city of Ternate. The analytical method was aided with Smart PLS. The results show that the quality of social networks has no significant effect on the performance of SMEs and that the marketing network collaboration capability has no significant effect on the performance of SMEs. This implies that business operators of conventional businesses in certain areas have not reached the markets outside Ternate City by using social media, which is a remarkably effective medium.

Recent developments of ICTs enable new ways to experience tourism and conducted to the concept of smart tourism. The adoption of cutting-edge technologies and its combination with innovative organizational models fosters cooperation, knowledge sharing, and open innovation among service providers in tourism destination. Moreover, it offers innovative services to visitors. In few words, they become smart tourism destinations. In this paper, we report first results of the SMARTCAL project aimed at conceiving a digital platform assisting Destination Management Organizations (DMOs) in providing smart tourism services. A DMO is the organization charged with managing the tourism offer of a collaborative network, made up of service providers acting in a destination. In this paper, we adopted a multiple case studies approach to analyze five Italian DMOs. Our aims were to investigate 1) if, and how, successful DMOs were able to offer smart tourism services to visitors; 2) if the ICTs adoption level was related to the collaboration level among DMO partners. First results highlighted that use of smart technologies was still in an embryonic stage of development, and it did not depend from collaboration levels.

Collaborative Networks and Digital Transformation, 2019

As a part of their digital transformation, municipalities across Europe have taken initiatives to support Open Data platforms and provide services leveraging on data. This challenges the traditional business driven IT strategy promoted by several Enterprise Architecture methodologies, which are designed to operate within a single enterprise that has a complete overview of its data and ICT systems. We envisage scenarios where public and private collaborative networks provide value added services to its citizens by leveraging on data. In this paper, we propose an Enterprise Architecture Framework for Cities to support them maneuvre smartly within their data space to create value added services through a variety of collaborative networks or Virtual Enterprises that bridge organisational boundaries. The novel elements of this Enterprise Architecture Framework are a DataxChange, the Value-Added Services and Virtual Enterprise layers. This work has been conducted within the EU H2020 Smart City project +CityxChange.

Collaboration in a Data-Rich World, 2017

Agri-food supply chains are subjected to many sources of uncertainty. If these uncertainties are not managed properly, they can have a negative impact on the agri-food supply chain (AFSC) performance, its customers, and the environment. In this sense, collaboration is proposed as a possible solution to reduce it. For that, a conceptual framework (CF) for managing uncertainty in a collaborative context is proposed. In this context, this paper seeks to answer the following research questions: What are the existing uncertainty sources in the AFSCs? Can collaboration be used to reduce the uncertainty of AFSCs? Which elements can integrate a CF for managing uncertainty in a collaborative AFSC? The CF proposal is applied to the weather source of uncertainty in order to show its applicability.

Many factors such as weak partner commitment, lack of proper partners' alignment on interest and values, individualism, lack of flexibility, and loss of autonomy may cause partnership's failures in collaborative networks. Most of these serious causes for conflicts in collaborative networks are rooted in partner's behavior, therefore analyzing and modeling the behavioral aspects of collaborative networks are important to enforce their success. This paper first addresses two kinds of behavior related to collaborative networks including Individual Collaborative Behavior and Network Collective Behavior, and then introduces an approach to measure the comparative individual collaborative behavior of partners in networks.

O objetivo deste artigo foi desenvolver e testar um modelo para formação de organizações virtuais pela estruturação da inovação de produto. Numa primeira etapa, de abordagem qualitativa e objetivo exploratório, foi adaptado um modelo de referência para modelagem de ambientes de criação de organizações virtuais, a partir do qual se construiu um modelo teórico, a fim de verificar as relações entre os construtos Relações Interorganizacionais e Inovação com as dimensões de modelagem. A segunda etapa, de abordagem quantitativa e natureza descritiva, teve por objetivo estruturar o modelo proposto a partir das diretrizes estabelecidas no modelo teórico.
