Abstract
Electronic learning or e-learning is the use of technology to enable learners to learn from anywhere and anytime. The delivery involves the use of electronic devices in some way to make available learning contents. Today, e-learning has drastically changed the educational environment. The e-learning methodology is a good example of green computing. Green computing refers to the study and practice of using computing resources in an eco-friendly manner. It is the practice of using computing resources in an energy efficient and environmentally friendly manner. In order to reduce costs, education services can be provided using cloud technology. The green cloud computing solutions save energy, reduce operational costs, and reduce carbon footprints on the environment. Hence, the objective is to provide a green cloud architecture to e-learning solutions. This architecture is addressing the issues such as improving resource use and reducing power consumption.

The increasing of energy cost and also environmental concern on green computing gaining more and more attention. Power and energy are a primary concern in the design and implementing green computing. Green is of the main step to make the computing world friendly with the environment. In this paper, an analysis on the comparison of green computer with other computing in E-learning environment had been done. The results show that green computing is friendly and less energy consuming. Therefore, this paper provide some suggestions in overcoming one of main challenging problems in environment problems which need to convert normally computing into green computing. In this paper also, we try to find out some specific area which consumes energy as compared to green computing in E –learning centre in Malaysia. The simulation results show that more than 30% of energy reduction by using green computing.

Cloud computing is a widely acceptable computing environment, and its services are also widely available. But the consumption of energy is one of the major issues of cloud computing as a green computing. Because many electronic resources like processing devices, storage devices in both client and server site and network computing devices like switches, routers are the main elements of energy consumption in cloud and during computation power are also required to cool the IT load in cloud computing. So due to the high consumption, cloud resources define the high energy cost during the service activities of cloud computing and contribute more carbon emissions to the atmosphere. These two issues inspired the cloud companies to develop such renewable cloud sustainability regulations to control the energy cost and the rate of CO 2 emission. The main purpose of this paper is to develop a green computing environment through saving the energy of cloud resources using the specific approach of identifying the requirement of computing resources during the computation of cloud services. Only required computing resources remain ON (working state), and the rest become OFF (sleep/hibernate state) to reduce the energy uses in the cloud data centers. This approach will be more efficient than other available approaches based on cloud service scheduling or migration and virtualization of services in the cloud network. It reduces the cloud data center's energy usages by applying a power management scheme (ON/OFF) on computing resources. The proposed approach helps to convert the cloud computing in green computing through identifying an appropriate number of cloud computing resources like processing nodes, servers, disks and switches/routers during any service computation on cloud to handle the energy-saving or environmental impact.

Green Cloud is an idea that contributes towards faster digital computational unit with low access cost by an eco-friendly means. Green revolution promotes the use of available resources in environment friendly way and Cloud technology offers storage, database, networking, software, analytics and many more services to its customers on Pay-As-You-Go basis. In today’s scenario, technology is moving largely towards cloud. There is a drift of big as well as small businesses on cloud. With this alteration, there arises a need to go green, as there is lot of carbon footprints and emissions with the use of electronic devices like laptops, standalone PCs, servers etc. The focus of green technology is to minimize the computational costs along with saving the substantial energy consumption and effective utilization of such devices. Green Cloud Computing is an approach towards promoting the green concept in cloud technology. This paper highlights the need to switch to green technology and provides various ways by which it can be attained. The emphasis is on the use of Green Cloud with a mention of its architecture and usefulness, which probably would optimize the performance of cloud without harming the environment. The study is based on the work done by various scientists working in data centers concluding that there is a need of getting green with cloud technology.
Managing and Processing Big Data in Cloud Computing
Sustainability creates and maintains the conditions under which humans and nature can exist in productive accord, that permit fulfilling the social, economic and other requirements of present and future generations. There is a debate that cloud computing is green contributing to sustainability or a risk of climate change. Cloud computing if compared to traditional on-premise computing, is a cost effective, energy-efficient, scalable and on-demand computing. There is no doubt that the expansive power of computing can help us address sustainability challenges, but this technology also draws from the Earth's finite environmental stocks and biosphere which results in risk of climate change.

The upsurge in global warming and release of greenhouse gases is a major issue that intensified over the past years due to the increasing usage of technological resources in our daily routines. That is why a call for going green in the technological field is highly recommended. This paper reviews various approaches of green computing in five main models - software engineering model, cloud computing, mobile computing, data centers, and the educational sector.
Cloud computing is the whole new paradigm in the field of information technology and moving towards a cloud based system increases day by day because of this cloud based data centers are increasing greatly which leads to high energy consumption every day and also the emission of CO 2 by these data centers greatly affect the environment. To overcome this problem Green Computing came into existence. The main goal of green computing is to recycle and reuse. Green Computing helps to get the same computing speed at decreased energy consumption. In this paper I discussed about how green computing can be achieved by load balancing and virtualization. Which can reduce the energy consumption of cloud data centers which will in turn reduce the low emission of C0 2 .

Green computing" idea started in 1992 when the United States Environment Protection Agency (EPA) launched energy star, an approach to recognize electronic equipment's energy efficiency characteristics. EPEAT-another popular green IT bench mark-is associated with IEEE standards for computers, laptops etc. But the requirement of personal computers, laptops and other IT equipment's increasing day by day and also they are reproducing more and more carbon dioxide (CO 2) which is affecting the environment. The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) community is researching how to ensure that communication systems absorb less energy and thus conjointly have a essentially smaller carbon foot print. Here we are suggesting how we can use green clouds (private as well as public) so that we can reduce existing network that does not affect the existing need, so we can reduce energy and CO 2 also.
— In the past few years, the Information and Communication Technology sector have made a significant advancement in Cloud Computing technology. The world wide acceptance of Cloud technology can be credited to the various benefits a Cloud offers to its users. The Cloud technology helps in preventing resource wastage to a much greater extent. The authors of this paper wish to explore the concept behind cloud computing, its strategy, and benefits. This paper presents some facts and figures related to cloud and green computing which will help in obtaining the gist of Cloud Computing and in understanding the need of going green in computing.
