This paper analyzes the original search strategy employed by the EPPI-Centre for populating the CASE database, which currently houses over 5,500 studies related to culture and sport engagement. The investigation focuses on determining the effectiveness, efficiency, and value of different search sources used in the initial strategy to develop a comprehensive update strategy. The findings suggest that general bibliographic databases are the most effective and valuable sources for identifying unique database entries, while the update frequency of these sources varies significantly.
