Over the past years, Cloud computing has become one of the most influential information technologies to combat computing needs because of its unprecedented advantages. Cloud computing provides a lot of opportunities to the IT world. Enterprises from startups to large companies view cloud as a good option, because of resource pooling, on demand provisioning and pay as you go model. The most important goal for a cloud service provider is creating a sense of confidence & trust about that cloud provider among service requester. To achieve this, organizations should develop a strategy that is comprehensive , well organized and it should be done with proper checks understanding the future requirements , and by delivering a cloud infrastructure. But, the trust concerns are developing a resistance against the popularity of cloud among the global CXO’s. This paper focuses on the various dimensions of trust in cloud computing. Cloud infrastructure is an evolving technology that offers organizations and enterprises the ability to access various elastic and scalable resources. The cloud provider offers application software that can be implemented by multiple users online. Cloud computing offers distributed and shared computing resources and services that belong to different service providers and websites. Before truly benefiting from cloud computing, there are several issues associated to it which need to be addressed in the first place. One of the most important aspects that needs special attention pertains to the cloud security. Cloud computing has the important component as trust management. In this paper, we look at some security services practices like authentication, confidentiality and integrity as well as the trust management. Nowadays number of people who outsource their data to the cloud has been increased dramatically. Cloud computing offers cost-effective dynamic, scalable and shared services for enterprises from remote data centre. However, the problem of trusting cloud computing is a highest concern for most enterprises in such a way that trust is extensively in esteem as one of the highest barrier for the acceptance and expansion of cloud computing. A let of exclusive features such as high functionality and low cost have made cloud computing a valuable technology. These remarkable features give users and companies, countless opportunities to reach their goals spending minimum cost and time. Looking at the literature of this technology, it can be claimed that the main concerns of the users of cloud are security issues especially trust. Unfortunately these concerns have not been tackled yet. Therefore we decided to introduce a useful and functioned way to create more trust among consumers to use this technology .In this paper we suggest the foundation of an international certification institute for the service providing companies in order to increase trust and enhance likeliness of using this new and valuable technology among people. Cloud computing offers massively scalable, elastic resources (e.g., data, computing power, and services) over the internet from remote data centres to the consumers. The growing market penetration, with an evermore diverse provider and service landscape, turns Cloud computing marketplaces a highly competitive one. In this highly competitive and distributed service environment, the assurances are insufficient for the consumers to identify the dependable and trustworthy Cloud providers. This paper provides a landscape and discusses incentives and hindrances to adopt Cloud computing from Cloud consumers' perspective. Due to these hindrances, potential consumers are not sure whether they can trust the Cloud providers in offering dependable services. Trust-aided unified evaluation framework by leveraging trust and reputation systems can be used to assess trustworthiness (or dependability) of Cloud providers. Hence, cloud-related specific parameters (QoS+) are required for the trust and reputation systems in Cloud environments. We identify the essential properties and corresponding research challenges to integrate the QoS+ parameters into trust and reputation systems. Finally, we survey and analyse the existing trust and reputation systems in various application domains, characterizing their individual strengths and weaknesses. Our work contributes to understanding 1) why trust establishment is important in the Cloud computing landscape, 2) how trust can act as a facilitator in this context and 3) what are the exact requirements for trust and reputation models (or systems) to support the consumers in establishing trust on Cloud providers.

Cloud computing has been attracting the attention of several researchers both in the academia and the industry as it provides many opportunities for organizations by offering a range of computing services. For cloud computing to become widely adopted by both the enterprises and individuals, several issues have to be solved. A key issue that needs special attention is security of clouds, and trust management is an important component of cloud security. In this paper, the authors look at what trust is and how trust has been applied in distributed computing. Trust models proposed for various distributed system has then been summarized. The trust management systems proposed for cloud computing have been investigated with special emphasis on their capability, applicability in practical heterogonous cloud environment and implementabilty. Finally, the proposed models/systems have been compared with each other based on a selected set of cloud computing parameters in a table.
