The project shows the design of a smart device-Smart Mirror. The smart mirror here is mainly for home environment. These smart mirrors are not widely used due to cost or high requirements of hardware. The proposed smart mirror will be operated by Raspberry Pi and will be connected by real world through internet. The smart mirror will consist Raspberry-Pi, LED monitor, speakers, microphone with two-way mirror and acrylic glass. With the help of voice recognition API the mirror will communicate with the user through voice commands and responds them accordingly. The mirror will highlight some basic amenities like time, local news, weather, etc. The mirror will also perform some advance function such as Home Automation using Smart Mirror. This mirror with artificial intelligence will provide an extraordinary experience to the user.

Recent Advancement in Internet of Things (IoT) technology has seen many application mainly related with automation. Modernizing home appliances have become a trend but the only thing that has not been modernized is mirror. The Mirror being the most used objects in the house but there’s been no advancement in its design and application. Our project focuses on modernizing the mirror by enhancing its functionality at the same time make it more interactive and useful in saving our precious time. A mirror’s function is to display reflection of anything that comes in front of it. We present the idea of Smart Mirror which displays real-time information like mobile notifications, email notifications, Calendar, Live weather updates, reminders, and so on. In addition to this Amazon’s Alexa services have been used so that mirror takes voice commands from user. The term Internet of Things (IoT) is related with the connection of physical devices through Internet. The 'thing' in IoT could be whatever can gather and move the information over an organization with no human's help. The gadgets are implanted with innovation so they can be controlled and checked distantly. IoT fundamentally seemed to ease human exertion and make the gadget to play out the undertaking by gathering data from general climate. Smart mirror is also developed to reduce human effort. Mirror is something fundamental that is accessible at everybody's home, exploiting the innovation we inserted in it to make it shrewd and of more use. Now-a-days we get all the updates of our smart phone which we go through timely, but during morning rush hours it becomes a great haste to complete all morning routines. Smart mirror reduces this hurry by providing you with the basic information you need to check in the morning such today's date, time according to your location, weather updates, news feed and today's schedule by your own voice.

Smart mirrors, which continue the works today and will take its place in the future technology, provide both mirror and computer aided information services to its users. In the scope of the study, the developed Smart mirror system includes the weather information, time and location information, user information using Raspberry Pi 3 microcontroller card A smart mirror displays applications so that you can check the weather, local news, etc. while you are getting ready in the morning. This smart mirror aims to reduce and possibly eliminate the need for the user to make time in their daily morning or nightly routine to check their PC, tablet, or smartphone for the information they need. The making of this smart mirror includes a micro-controller called Raspberry Pi which will act as a brain of the interactive system. The micro-controller will be powered using python scripts for mirror software keyword.

The future of Home Automation depends on IoT, i.e., Internet of things. Even though the applications of IoT are diverse, the one that concerns the common man is how it can be used to make day-today life easier and faster. This is where Home Automation using IoT comes into the scenario. In this paper, we demonstrate the functioning and working of a smart mirror. The mirror will possess the ability to display the calendar, current weather condition, date and time, and outside temperature. These features of the mirror will be gathered from the Internet and implemented using the raspberry pi 3. The raspberry pi board is programmed with the Raspbian OS which is part of Linux. The mirror will also be adjustable, aesthetic, durable and lightweight. This paper presents the application and implementation of the smart mirror and how it is an integral part of home automation.

In today's society, information is available to us at a glance through our phones, our laptops, our desktops, and more. But an extra level of interaction is required in order to access the information. As technology grows, technology should grow further and further away from the traditional style of interaction with devices. In the past, information was relayed through paper, then through computers, and in today's day and age, through our phones and multiple other mediums. Technology should become more integrated into our lives-more seamless and more invisible. We hope to push the envelope further, into the future. We propose a new simple way of connecting with your morning newspaper. We present our idea, the Smart Mirror, information at a glance. Our system aims to deliver your information quickly and comfortably, with a new modern aesthetic. While modern appliances require input through modules such as keyboards or touch screen, we hope to follow a model that can function purely on voice. We seek to deliver your information during your morning routine and throughout the day, when taking out your phone is not always possible. This will cater to a larger audience base, as the average consumer nowadays hopes to accomplish tasks with minimal active interaction with their adopted technology. This idea has many future applications, such as integration with new virtual or augmented reality devices, or simplifying consumer personal media sources.

Basically, by using the adequate technology smart devices plays very important role in present generation. Instead of this smart device, mirrors play very important role in the interactive environments. When mirrors display information then it is known as "Magic Mirrors". In this paper design and development of smart mirrors is implemented using raspberry pi. This smart mirror consists of additional features which improves the system performance. By using this system, we can control the fan and light operations. It will turn ON and OFF the fan and turns ON and OFF the light based on the given command it performs. From LCD display the contents are displayed which consists of sheet with a reflective mirror. The entire operation is controlled by the raspberry pi 3 module. Hence, from this it can observe that it gives effective results compared to others.

In this globalization era, smart mirror have been one of the invention to represent futuristic interconnected physical object with several applications. Smart mirror is innovating appliance that incorporates with contextual information which offered the interactive user interface on the surface of a mirror with the use of Raspberry Pi 3. To create this smart mirror the methodology that includes analysis about smart mirror, designing the hardware and software, developing the prototype, implementation and lastly the evaluation phases needs to be take care of. The presentation performed on the mirror will be information such as weather, time and date, holiday calendar, to-do list by mobile synchronization, current traffic of selected area, news feed and compliment as a motivation. Furthermore, our framework also introduces music presentation that use for alarm purpose. In a nutshell, this mirror what we called "Brilliant Reflect" will be convenient to use as it provides various features to the user.

Intelligent systems are not only used on phones and computers, but also more and more intelligent products are coming into the market. There will never be an end to make a device ‘smarter’ with the help of adequate technology. In this paper we are designing a smart mirror based on Raspberry Pi for the home of the Internet of Things (IoT). Raspberry Pi is used as a host controller and STM32F030C8T6 microcontroller as a core control chip. Raspberry Pi is connected through Wi-Fi, and information about the weather forecast will be obtained from the API network interface. Time, date, weather, calendar, and other information are displayed on the display device. The user can interact with the mirror. Speech synthesis module SYN6288 is interfaced with voice interaction. Face recognition is done where a picture of a face is captured through webcam. The proposed smart mirror has the advantage of small size, low cost, user friendly, and has a broad application.
