Abstract
The wide deployment of wireless networks and mobile technologies and the significant increase in the number of mobile device users has created a very strong demand for emerging mobile commerce applications and services. Barcode-based identification and validation solutions are considered an important part of electronic commerce systems, particularly in electronic supply chain systems. This paper reports a mobile-based 2D barcode validation system as part of mobile commerce systems. This barcode-based validation solution is developed based on the Data Matrix 2D-Barcode standard to support barcode-based validation in mobile commerce systems on mobile devices. The paper demonstrates its application by building a mobile movie ticketing system.

In this paper we address the topic of embedding 2D barcode detection and reading technology into specific online environment applications. We propose a framework for the integration of barcode technology into common use online systems running in web browsers. This article is based upon our fast Data Matrix barcode detection and decoding method as this presents the greatest technical challenges for the development of a complete solution within the framework. The article focuses on expanding the use of barcodes in selected logistics activities in a company. Our study discusses the application of barcode technology to selected logistics activities in the company in order to address the error rate in these activities and to control ownership of this technology in other logistics activities within the company during the COVID-19. The priority of the testing phase was to point out the elimination of errors in the original versus the newly proposed solution for the company on 10 products. In the test phase, the 10 products with the highest turnover in the company were used to point out the elimination of errors in various logistics activities, especially the time saved compared to the work of human personnel in the company. The company has this technology at its disposal, in the parent company as well as in the subsidiary. It was only a matter of expanding the use and applicability of this technology as well as other possibilities for researc...

The world today is full of innovations. Every year, people can see and discover different inventions such as gadgets, machines, electronics, and many others which are timely in this generation which makes these inventions to become life easier. Technology is used mostly by people in schools, jobs, and offices every day. Through this, the authors established a paper that applied technology for grocery stores. The grocery store companies have many targets. Through their business plans, they typically detail those targets well before the start of new f iscal years. These companies can best reach their goals by staying customer-focused, offering their customer-wanted products and services. That is why most grocery store firms also developed comprehensive marketing plans to achieve their key goals. Marketing strategies help the owner identify their target customers better and shop the concept better. With these problems, the researchers came up with an idea, which is to develop a system ...
products services due to importance of keeping records of all items in on place. For this purpose, there are many methods implemented to make the barcode reading process became easier to users. This project is to develop a barcode recognition system by using image processing. The system will be able to read barcode through an image and the system capable to capture the image by using a webcam. This project will be using MATLAB software program to develop the system and it will integrate with webcam or digital camera. For the future system development, it is suggested that the system also should consist a slider so that the user would able to control the brightness of the image which captured by webcam.
Reading barcodes is a daily need of today's world and normally it requires a scanner. In this paper we have presented a method so that we can read barcodes accurately using mobile phones which are commonly used today. The various problems of binarizing the 2D barcode images clicked by mobile devices is considered in this paper. The poor quality of the images due to low resolution of mobile cameras, noise, non-uniform illumination and distortion of the camera makes the task of binarization more difficult. Most of the binarization techniques makes use of global thresholding which may not have accurate result, hence the technique which finds the threshold for each pixel is presented in this paper. The proposed method can handle objects of different sizes and the uneven illumination problem.

Barcoding system is a cheap and reliable way for tagging the products. Barcode detection process is needed for an invetory system to detect the barcodes of the products and for the billing system of the inventory concerned. Now a days, laser scanners are costly which is used to detect single barcode in supershops. If we can detect multiple barcodes from an image, it can help everyone to save some more time than scanning them separatelt. Previously there were many methods like filtering, feature extraction, YOLO model for detecting single barcodes in a fast and reliable way. All those methods did not focus to detect multiple barcodes accurately. In this thesis work, we have developed a model which works better for detecting and decoding multiple barcodes simultaneously. We have used Faster RCNN model for the detection of multiple barcodes. The detection process is also done using Pyzbar library separately. But Faster RCNN gives us better output to detect barcodes from an image than this library does. With the help of Tensorflow API, we worked on our dataset for the detection process of barcodes at first. After training the barcodes, the model is tested with more than three hundred images of high and low resolutions. The detection rate is much improved than the existing studies, for both resolutions and almost all the barcodes are effectively detected. Moreover, the decoding process is done on Arte-Lab dataset with the help of Zbar library. Though the detection rate using Faster RCNN is little bit slower, but it gives better accuracy. The detection and decoding accuracy throughout the model can facilitate business system for faster transaction.

Quick Response (QR) Code is very useful for encoding the data in an efficient manner. Here data capacity in 2D barcode is limited according to the various types of data formats used for encoding. The data in image format uses more space. The data capacity can be increased by compressing the data using any of the data compression techniques before encoding. In this paper, we suggest a technique for data compression which in turn helps to increase the data capacity of QR Codes generated for image. The main objective of this paper is to present how QR code can be utilized best in boarding pass for managing luggage at air port. Misplace of luggage at air port is very common; here we are proposing an idea for proper handling of misplaced luggage.
The aim of this paper is to highlight the role of barcoding in Indian organized retail industry. The major domain in which barcoding is helpful for smooth functioning of organized retail store is the prime focus of this paper. The study includes the feedback given by the store managers of Shoppers Stop, Pantaloon, Big Bazar, Globus and Vishal Mega-Mart on the issues related to protection from theft, faster and improved service, reducing inventory errors, easy accessibility in showroom, time saving, improved efficiency, reducing cost, fast inventory status in store, fast information dissemination in store and tracking & tracing the material etc. This paper concludes that barcoding is very much effective for the efficient store management. Major attention in this paper is paid towards the role of barcoding in the organized retail stores.
