This paper examines the evolution of project management within the construction sector, tracing its historical development from large-scale projects in North America to its broader applicability in contemporary construction practices. It emphasizes the necessity of professional development for project managers and reveals empirical insights into the motivations driving postgraduate continuing professional education (CPE) in project management. The findings suggest that while traditional economic incentives may not strongly influence CPE decisions, personal aspirations and the perceived value of qualifications play crucial roles.
