Fluid micropumps play a crucial role in biomedical and chemical applications, necessitating precise control of fluid delivery. This study presents the design, fabrication, and testing of a novel planar rotary fluid micropump, leveraging rotary magnetic actuators for operation. Unlike conventional micropumps which rely on deflecting membranes, this micropump uses a rotor system that continuously controls the flow rates by adjusting the excitation frequency of the coil, enabling smooth and efficient fluid delivery with the potential for bi-directional flow.
