Abstract
The Internet is a really wide, intriguing world, difficult to penetrate in depth, rich with dissimulations, full of useful and also evil things, that are continuously changing. Cyberbullying represents an actual risk, especially for the online generation which is often unable to distinguish between virtual and realreality. The first step for cyberbullying prevention is the knowledge acquisition of what cyberbullying is and how it occurs within a specific context. This is not an easy task, since cyberbullying is a complex and quite new phenomenon, so much that researchers' opinion is often divided on its definition and there isn't agreement on the extent of its diffusion. This article presents and comments some cyberbullying preventing tips, inspired by the "top ten tips" that Hinduja and Patchin suggested to educators engaged in cyberbullying prevention.

Cyberbullying is a severe threat to the individual and social well-being of young people. For this reason, it is important to understand how they perceive the phenomenon of cyberbullying, how they identify its causes, what they think about support, and the preventive measures offered through the lens of their own cyberbullying experiences. The study was conducted in a qualitative research paradigm. Students (N = 55) aged 13-16 from 25 junior high schools located in different regions of (blinded for the review) who had experienced cyberbullying incidents as victims, perpetrators, or bystanders, and their teachers (N = 45) were interviewed. They provided in-depth answers regarding cyberbullying incidents they had experienced and presented their attitudes and interpretations concerning those cases. The raw data were analysed by competent judges who defined a posteriori important categories that were useful for understanding the psychosocial mechanisms of cyberbullying and important dimensions of its prevention. The results proved a clear connection between participation in offline and online peer violence. The analysis of the statements showed that public/private types of cyberbullying involve different psychological and social mechanisms. Our findings confirm the importance of empathy as the buffering factor in cyberbullying perpetration. In addition, the limitations and inadequacy of the support and interventions offered by adults in cyberbullying cases have been emphasised in teens' testimonies. The results may constitute grounds for formulating recommendations on the prevention of cyberbullying in the school context, taking into account the perspective of all actors involved.

Bullying has long been of concern to school officials and parents alike. Bullying, which is a type of aggressive behavior, has now entered the electronic age in the form of cyberbullying (e.g., e-mails, text messages, profile sites). Cyberbullying is especially insidious because it affords a measure of anonymity and the opportunity to reach a much larger number of victims without a significant threat of punishment. In this article, the authors discuss efforts to combat cyberbullying that include prevention and intervention programs at the community, school, and family levels. The authors point out that the majority of U.S. states have written legislation to address bullying and cyberbullying and that many schools have established policies that prohibit electronic bullying and developed consequences for doing so. Access to online information and communication and the use of social networks have all increased considerably among preadolescents over the last decade. These trends are directly related to the similarly growing phenomenon of cyberbullying: as preadolescents' exposure to online social interaction increases, so does their potential involvement in harmful online interactions. Thus, there is a need to design and implement cyberbullying prevention programmes that prepare pre-adolescents for both the risks and opportunities of a technology-driven world. This qualitative study analyzed the effects of a cyberbullying prevention programme supported by the use of technologies for the safe use of social media in pre-adolescents. Data were collected from 151 participants (aged 9-11), at five schools in Bogotá, Colombia. Results indicate that pre-adolescents increased their understanding about cyberbullying as they came to appreciate how building confidence and self-efficacy could prepare them to better face cyberbullying threats. Thus, the study advocates for the early teaching of self-regulatory skills to help youngsters develop conflict resolution skills and ease their gradual empowerment to face cyberbullying. The study suggests specific considerations that will help communities to shape future prevention plans and policies, supporting the development of more inclusive school learning environments framed upon collaboration, equity, and social justice principles.
