We all are human beings and live in the environment. We are all using the environmental resources like air, land, water to fulfill our needs. The term "development" also means fulfilling our needs. Environment includes all the living and non-living objects. While fulfilling our never-lasting needs, we are putting pressure on environment. It creates a serious problem of environmental degradation. If we use any of environmental sources beyond its limit of replacement, we may lose it forever. Many rules and regulations are made at national and international level for protection of environment. It is also the responsibility of everyone to use our environmental resources with care. Unplanned human activities is the main cause of environmental degradation. We must protect them from degradation for our next generations. Therefore, there is a need to create awareness about environmental protection, otherwise soon there will be nothing like beautiful will remain in the environment to be proud of. Through the research paper entitled "A Study Of Ecocritical Perspectives In Indian English Novels", we will study ecocritical perspectives through select Indian English novels. The concept of human development is causing threats to the beautiful nature and environment. The novels selected for study are "Softly Dies A Lake" by author Akkineni Kutumba Rao and the other one is "The Hungry Tide" by Amitav Ghosh.

Ecocriticism is the study of the relationship between the literature and environment to understand the vital role of nature in the growth and evolution of everything and it paves ways many to the scholars to examine environmental concerns and the ways literature treats the subject of nature. Some ecocritics endeavor through literature to provide possible solutions for the sustenance of environment. Ecospiritualityconnects the science of ecology with spirituality. It has been defined as "a manifestation of the spiritual connection between human beings and the environment." The new millennium and the modern ecological crisis have created a need for environmentally based religion and spirituality. Ecospirituality is also understood by scholars as one result of people wanting to free themselves from the materialistic society.

This paper is a comparative ecocritical investigation considering the relationship between man and nature in cross-cultural contexts as reflected in the poetry of two great admirers of nature in England and Malaysia: William Wordsworth and Ghulam Sarwar Yousuf. Both poets have composed poetry that strengthens man's bonds with nature and inspires environmental consciousness. Their nature poetry has been previously studied from different individual perspectives, but none has approached it comparatively from an ecocritical stylistic viewpoint. This study aims at analyzing selected nature poetry to identify the unique philosophy of nature both poets adopted, highlighting the artistic and aesthetic values their poetry are teeming with. The study demonstrates the cognitive development of the poets' environmental consciousness through three phases of attitudes towards nature; the physical, the intellectual and the mystical. Using major ecocritical concepts like ecocentrism, symbiotic interrelationship and ecological consciousness, the study adopts a comparative stylistic approach to scrutinize linguistic and literary representation of nature in the selected poems. It identifies the similarities and differences between both poets concluding that despite differences in their times, places, cultures, language and style, there is an affinity between both poets in their treatment towards nature. The present study responds to the enormous need for literary-linguistic investigation of leitmotifs of nature across geographical, cultural, and linguistic contexts as a means of facilitating environmental sensitivity and sensibility.
Aan poshe tele yele Wan poshe. (Forests sustain the eternity of life) (Translation Mine) " When any country " s river water becomes unsafe for drinking the country is not safe to live in ". The region of Kashmir known for its beauty throughout the world is located in the lap of Peer Panchal and other Himalayan mountain ranges which form a beautiful lush green crown with free flowing rivers and with vast meadows decorated with wild and other natural flower species. Therefore, forms its rich paragon part. It is this lush green beauty of the valley that compelled Mughal Emperor Shahjahan to confess: Agar Firdouse zameen baroie astoo/Humay austow, humay austow, humay autow, (If there is paradise on earth /its here, it " s here, it " s here. (Trans. Mine). These forests spread over 21000 kms, have played a vital role in the preservation of the wild life and also enchanted and enthralled the poets to sing melodious songs about its being. The Paper highlights change in its feasible dimensions as how the peaceful scenario of ecotourism got changed in to eco-termism and what were the other consequences that lead to its devastation and how the language of poetry got changed and poets instead of singing about beautiful vales and poets suddenly began to mourn the things in all forms.

This article critically examines nature's pervasive and multifaceted role as both muse and metaphor in Indian poetry, presenting a thorough analysis of how natural imagery and symbolism have shaped poetic expression across various linguistic and cultural traditions. Drawing on the writings of both classical and modern Indian poets, including Rabindranath Tagore, A.K. Ramanujan, Nissim Ezekiel, and Arundhati Subramaniam, the research investigates how environment functions as an active participant and symbolic agent in poetic discourse rather than just a background. The study emphasizes the ways in which nature may be a source of inspiration, a medium for philosophical investigation, and a way to express difficult emotional and spiritual states.' The article clarifies the relationship between the natural world and poetic imagination by placing the discussion within the framework of ecocriticism and symbolic representation. It also reveals how Indian poets use natural elements to reflect ecological consciousness, cultural identity, and existential themes. In the end, this investigation highlights how important nature has always been in Indian poetry as a place of both aesthetic beauty and deep importance.

Nature can’t speak for herself and thus time and again she retorts with calamities, making us vulnerable and impotent. This paper proposes to explore the various geopolitical and socio-political intricacies of man versus nature, which are portrayed by Indian English writers. The genuine concern for nature along with marginal demography and water habitats is the main focus around which Amitav Ghosh’s (2016)‘The Hungry Tides’ and Arundhati Roy’s (1999) ‘The Greater Common Good’ revolves. The paper aims at establishing intertextuality between the two texts focusing on the concerns of both the writers over nature and also depicting vulnerability of humans in front of the wrath of nature. The texts lack literary similarities but the theme revolves around interference of human beings in the disruption of the ecological balance and about the sufferings of the marginal people being a part of the broader nature encompassed in its thrall. Both authors bring forward to the global community issues which can damage nature and human beings bringing out the hidden socio-political reasons along with environmental concerns. As the paper proceeds, we will explore the tangible yet profound manifold relationship between human and nature. The true meaning of symbiosis is established not in the society of civilization but through roots that penetrate into the soil sustaining life. These discussions will be done through the mentioned literary texts to provide a basic guidance to researchers and fellow environmentalists before they venture into the world of the 'other'

The focus of research study is to explore the bond between man and nature, reflected in the poetry of contemporary Pakistani Pashto poet Abdul Ghani Khan. The nature poetry of the poet reinforces man's connection to nature and promotes environmental awareness. His poetry has been analyzed previously from various viewpoints, but little work has been done from ecocritical and stylistic perspective. This research seeks to examine selected nature's poetry from the poetic collection of the poet to recognize the concept of nature that he has embraced, as well as the creative and artistic qualities that his poetry contains. The paper also shows the poet's environmental consciousness that has developed cognitively involving three phases: physical, intellectual, and mystical. The thesis also examines the linguistic and literary styles in the selected poetry, using the Eco critical notions like eco centrism, symbiotic interrelatedness, and ecological consciousness. The current research addresses the critical need for literary-linguistic research into nature motifs for promotion of environmental awareness and sensibility.

This article explores the searing critiques of globalization, modernization and industrialization in the eco-conscious poetry of North Eastern India through an ecocritical analysis of selected poems of Saratchand Thiyamand others. In celebrating the ecological glory of their region, these poets criticize modernization, urbanization, industrialization and irresponsible human behaviour that are continually ravaging the biodiversity and ecosystem of their land. The poets are playing an important role in raising eco-consciousness and eco-sensibility not only among the people of their own region but also in the wider world. The people of the North East revere nature and depict it in their literatures. Although in the arena of world literature the concept of eco-consciousness is a relatively modern phenomenon, a deep sensibility for nature and a harmonious inter-relationship between man and the environment can be seen in the literature of the North East. The eco-centric lifestyle of the p...
