The problems are formulated as follows: ISO 9001: 2008 certification focuses more on proving compliance with standards and has not accommodated the needs of the education world to meet the expectations of stakeholders as well as continuous improvement of organizational performance. The need for implementation of Quality Management System in education sector becomes important. The focus of this research is to describe the condition of motives, benefits, obstacles and success factors of ISO 9001: 2008 Quality Management System. The research method used is explanatory survey method with descriptive analysis technique. The population of research states vocational school in Bandung and the sample is the manager of Quality Management System. The results describe the condition of motives, benefits, obstacles and success factors of implementation of ISO 9001: 2008 quality management. The motives categorical are high, high benefit, medium barriers and factors of high category success. This m...
Robust quality management is needed to meet the demands of continuous performance improvement and a rapidly changing business environment. The IMMI School of Management (IMMI College of Management/STIMA IMMI) is one of the educational institutions that has implemented Quality Management System (QMS) ISO 9001: 2015 to consistently maintain and improve higher education quality. This research was conducted at the IMMI School of Management from September 2019 to November 2019, by using descriptive qualitative approach. Data collected through observation, interviews, and study of documentation. The results and analysis in this study were discussing the Deming PDCA (Plan, Do, Check and Action) model consisting of 10 clauses and 26 ISO 9001: 2015 criteria. This study found that the implementation of the ISO9001: 2015 Quality Management System at the IMMI Scool of management had fulfilled all the proposals and criteria contained in all elements/clauses and criteria. Furthermore, this research proposed that the QMS ISO 9001: 2015 at the IMMI School of Management should be integrated with the BAN-PT criteria/standards so that documentation and implementation become more effective and efficient.
ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies (ISO member bodies). The work of preparing International Standards is normally carried out through ISO technical committees. Each member body interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been established has the right to be represented on that committee. International organizations, governmental and non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take part in the work. ISO collaborates closely with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) on all matters of electrotechnical standardization.
The purpose of the study is firstly, to empirically validate the conceptual structure of the effectiveness of the ISO 9001 quality management system (QMS) in manufacturing companies and secondly, to determine the critical factors that have a significant impact on the QMS's effectiveness. A research study was carried out through a structured questionnaire in a sample of 163 ISO 9001 certified Greek companies. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses are applied to extract and validate latent constructs, while their relationships are determined through structural equation modelling. The analyses confirm the conceptual factorial structure of the ISO 9001 QMS's effectiveness which consists of three dimensionsthe ISO 9001 objectives (prevention of non-conformities, continuous improvement and customer satisfaction focus). The analysis also confirms the five dimensions of the critical factors for ISO 9001 QMS effectiveness identified in the literature (internal motivation, external environment pressure, company attributes, employee attributes and quality system attributes). However, only the company internal motivation, company attributes and employee attributes have a significant impact on the ISO 9001 QMS's effectiveness.

This study aims to have first-hand knowledge for implementing quality management system based on the international standard ISO 9001:2008 for academic institutions which considered as the cornerstone toward establishing total quality management system including the basis of academic accreditation requirements. This work uses a case study approach to examine implementation of QMS in HE issue and conducts a review of the closely related models. The study also provides a complete plans and strategies to assist and support their initiatives to achieve quality system. Faculty of Engineering–Rabigh at King Abdulaziz University is considered as the real case study to implement the main features of the quality management system in the educational sectors. The study shows how to identify the stages of applying quality in higher educational institutions, in particular emerging faculty. It concludes that quality management system based on the ISO 9001:2008 can provide a foundation for total qu...

The paper identifies problems related to the functioning of quality management system ISO 9001. These problems have been divided into three categories. The first one are the weaknesses of the ISO 9001 standard. The second group are practical irregularities which appear at the stages of implementation, improvement and certification of the quality management systems. The last category consists of real or potential threats in company’s surroundings. The next step of study will be an attempt to determine the potential of the new revision of the standard (which will be published in 2015) to reduce or eliminate those problems. However even at the current stage it may be claimed that changing only the content of ISO 9001 will not make a big part of the problems mitigation since it appears that only some of the irregularities are related directly to the content of ISO 9001. The rest of the problems concern the practice of implementing, improving and certification of the systems of quality m...

Importance of ISO9001 Quality management system (QMS)cannot be ignored by the business world at any cost as it has a direct impact on the organization’s ability to fulfilclient’s requirements. This research identified the gap that a comprehensive framework for quality management maintenance is lacking, and the present quality management frameworks in use are not capable enough to meet the ISO9001 quality standards. This research is contributing to scholarly knowledge by integrating knowledge management and process-based management (PBM) elementsin the quality management system maintenance area. This study is descriptive in nature, and a quantitativeprocedure wasadopted to gather the data from 341 sample sizes. A total of 4 hypotheses were proposed and these form the overall research framework of this study. The quantitative data was analyzed through a technique named as partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). The structural model results showed that process-base...

This study examines the roles of perception and belief in influencing ISO 9000 practitioners to maintain the quality management system during the post-certification period. The creation of a model to examine the causal relationships between practitioners' beliefs and ISO 9000 maintenance was guided by a cross-disciplinary approach that was based on the theory of reasoned action and the technology acceptance model. The model was founded on two paths: conceptual learning and operational learning. The former involves learning via a structured approach, while the latter relates to unstructured influences from ISO 9000 practitioners' peers and management. Data were gathered from 210 subjects, and structural equation modeling was used to analyze and test the model. The tests determined that both quality management systems practitioners' beliefs and peer and management support have a positive effect upon sustainable ISO 9000 maintenance.

Post liberalization policies of the Indian Government have given a real challenge to the Indian scientists to live with the paradigm of strict time schedules, improved quality and reduced costs. Scientists are now expected to reduce lead times of design, development and deliver the required product in conformance to the Users' requirements. Indian Government Knowledge based organizations have therefore implemented quality management systems and most of them have obtained formal ISO 9001 certification. However the impact of implementation of QMS on the organizational as well as individual performance has not been measured. A need is therefore felt to develop an instrument and identify the performance parameters impacted by the implementation of quality management system. In this research a Questionnaire for ISO Impact Analysis was specifically designed for KBOs and study of 34 units of ISO 9001 certified R&D organizations was taken with a focus on determining the impact of implementation of ISO 9001 quality management system on the performance. Responses of ISO 9001 certified units of Questionnaire dealing with various markers of Impact Analysis were subjected to principal component factor analysis with Varimax rotation and Eigen value as criteria.
