What is it? Considering braid technique and structure.
2017, Strands
Abstract
Identifying a braid is a challenge, and some of the reasons are considered here by examining one example. Braids are often described by technique, yet how reliable is this form of nomenclature? Arguing for caution when diagnosing any historic braid, Carey provides evidence of the ambiguity that can surround technique, based on her field research with the Iu Mien in Asia.
