Abstract

The participation of women in the workforce has evolved significantly over the years, shifting from traditional full-time employment to contingent work arrangements. Contingent work provides flexibility but also presents various challenges for women in terms of job security and career growth. This study examines the trends and patterns of women's participation in the contingent workforce in India, analysing the benefits and drawbacks of this shift. The paper explores the factors influencing women's preference for contingent work and discusses policy implications to improve their work-life balance and economic stability.
