2024, Coulson-Thomas, Colin (2024), Work and Corporate Cultures: Options, Requirements and Priorities, Management Services, Vol. 68 No. 4, Winter, pp 41-47

Abstract

Workgroup, workplace and corporate cultures can affect the potential for obtaining productivity and other performance improvements. Reviewing and changing cultures can also result in consulting opportunities for practitioners. Whether or not a particular culture is appropriate for one or more of the range of tasks being undertaken and different communities, groups and teams across an organisation is a question that may need to be addressed. This article examines various issues for those reviewing cultures, seeking to change them or working within them to consider. These include homogenous and/or diverse cultures, challenges to corporate and workforce cultures, cultural implications for certain developments and trends, appropriate corporate and workplace cultures, accommodating different cultural requirements, establishing a security conscious culture, meeting multiple challenges in various situations, and responsible corporate and workplace leadership.
