Since education and communication are concepts that cannot be dissociated; now, more than ever, institutions are making intense use of technological resources in order to turn information into knowledge in virtual teaching environments. Hence, the main activity yet to be developed by educators is to advise educational institutions on the use of New Technologies of Information and Communication as a didactic support, promoting and spreading their educative applications inside and outside classrooms. This process belongs to a cycle that is based on the assumption that new technologies applied to education would solve all time, distance and transport issues, although never dissociated from the traditional teaching methods. ). In the educative communication context, the focus is on language acquisition and enrichment as well as on communicative competence. Communication is not seen simply as a helping tool anymore, but as a basic pedagogical and methodological component to be used in bo...
This chapter presents an elearning solution implemented during school terms of the ITE L. Amabile has established an agreement with the MoMA Centre based on the free use of the Intelligent Web Teacher platform. During this year, three blended courses have been provided for 25 teachers interested to design and supply blended courses. In the second year (2010)(2011) was continued the agreement between the ITE L. Amabile and the MOMA Centre with a commercial contract of fee paying. During this year were provided at pupils some recovery, enhancement blended courses in various disciplines. At the end of these online courses, the teaching team had been proposed a survey. The results of the survey are a useful element of reflection for future choices and developments of this elearning solution.

In this document, we share how IBSE has proven to be an effective tool in addressing the challenge of improving STEM learning and making STEM jobs more attractive. We also discuss the application and impact of IBSE in relation to varying learning goals, policy contexts, and timeframes. We give selected examples of major European initiatives in STEM Teacher Training, in particular where inquiry-based strategies have been applied, originating both from public and private stakeholders: Amgen Teach, Next-Lab, Scientix and STEM Alliance. After providing a synopsis of the lessons learned so far and possible paths forward in the quest for a society more knowledgeable about science and technology, a number of conclusions and recommendations are put forward.

In today's environment of technological development and the construction of the European Higher Education Area, new needs are emerging to adapt to the new demands of teaching using strategies being promoted by the credit system (ECTS). That is, there is an imperative to experiment with methodologies related to the imminent implementation of the European credit system. In this study, which was conducted on the virtualisation of certain courses in within the curriculum of the Pedagogy degree programme, several individual projects are presented that together aim to incorporate information and communication technologies (ITCs) into teaching as one of the key elements to improving the teachinglearning process, as well as experimenting with the new European credits. This article presents the most noteworthy results of the experiment carried out in academic year 2005-06 based on the assessments of the main stakeholders (professors and students). General area of interest of this innovation This innovation might be of interest to any professor or group of university professors who are interested in implementing the European credit system. In this experience, they will discover the possibilities and challenges that ICTs pose in this process of change. The results from the experimentation process in the Pedagogy degree programme at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona can be transferred to other situations when ICTs are the key element in the process of university change.

Education shapes the nation and today's education is driven by the science and technology. With the advent of new technologies, the education system also gets restructured and lots of new practices are followed and many old and unused practices are discarded off. Artificial Intelligence is one such new technology that has attracted the attention of all scientists across the world. Seeing the potential of AI, scientists take it as the technology of the century. Though we are in the initial phases of the AI era, many new educational technologies is knocking the door each day that can make big difference in the teaching learning practice in the class. Highly influenced by the new technology, the researcher intends to take a research work on AI enabled classrooms and tools that can be implemented in the classroom to modernize the teaching learning process. In this research, the researcher carried out a survey research to find the teachers' awareness towards AI and their perspectives towards AI in school education. The result shows that 76.19% of teacher possesses high level of AI awareness. They have idea of the current AI advancements in the field of education. And know the steps taken by the educational institutions integrating AI with the school curriculum. The result also shows that teachers are optimistic with the new technology and are of the opinion that it is going to make the teaching and learning more interactive.

This preface presents the mission and activities of the Research Center for Innovation in Learning Technologies at the Open University of Israel. It describes the objectives and themes of the Chais Conference 2011, explains its synergies with IJELLO and the Informing Science Institute, and introduces the papers included in this special issue. This paper collection emphasizes the importance of teachers' training, and reflects the growing understanding of their major role in integrating innovative technologies in education.
Because, today's students tend to be more digitally savvy, mobile and transitory, socially connected, and more democratic in their worldview, higher education needs to find innovative and attractive ways to help students respond to the needs of opening up and the requirements of economic and social development. Higher education has to find a way to increase students' interest in academia by providing opportunities for deeper, more meaningful, and connected learning, in creating a practice ground for skill development within a meaningful context. Virtual learning communities, a 21 st century requirement on education, can help to prepare students for work environments during college and after graduation and easily get students involved into community. The purpose of this study is to explore the benefits of building virtual learning communities among students, focusing on availability and accessibility of course material from any location as a benefit of e-learning, on the advantage of flexible study, at a time and pace suited to the student, and also the importance of virtual interaction with other students or teachers. Online revision and practice exercises and the possibility of using virtual learning communities in preparing for online exams are two other benefits of building virtual learning communities, which are being evaluated during our survey. Also, the frequency students access virtual learning communities it is also one of the questions included in this survey. Overall, during this study it is emphasised the fact that virtual learning communities have the potential to create more authentic and experiential learning spaces for students.
Abstract The presentation overviews the process and the outcomes of the Marie Curie Project “IRNET - International Research Network for study and development of new tools and methods for advanced pedagogical science in the field of ICT instruments, e-learning and intercultural competences”. It reports on the main stages of the research, participants, scopes of the aims and tasks, activities which were held in the process of the project realisation. Th presentation highlights the milestones in the research which lasted for four years and involved a big group of researchers from Poland, Ukraine, Spain, Czech Republic, Australia, Russia, Turkey and others, contributing to the study, development and implementation of the educational tools, testing the tools in different focus groups. Keywords: ICT tools, project, e-learning, education, international research.
