In the Deaf community, hearing children of deaf adults (Codas) often find themselves in a dichotomy of difference and belonging. It is estimated that nearly 90% of children born to deaf parents are hearing (CACDP, 2006); furthermore, it is often assumed these children do not inherit the cultural identity of their parents based on their biosociality due to physical differences (Rabinow, 1996) and a binary framework of being either Deaf or hearing (Brueggemann, 2008). This study examined the variation in cultural competence among leaders in four different residential schools for the Deaf across the United States. The study explored where leaders fell on the cultural continuum, and how this was reflected in the schools in the way each perceived and validated Deaf culture as well as other cultures present in the schools. This qualitative multi-case ethnographic methodology utilized interviews as primary data sources which were video-taped in order to accurately transcribe them and to score concepts and themes for analysis by grounded theory methodology. The findings highlighted the complexities of culture and the ways that administrators embraced or knowingly or unknowingly overlooked the cultures that the students brought to the schools. Finally, the leadership decisions made by administrators were also tied to their own cultural proficiency.

A study on 'mounting leadership skills among young adults with disabilities' was carried out with 30 samples. The samples were selected using purposive sampling method, from Colleges and Universities at Tamilnadu. Quasi-Experimental method was followed for the conduct of the study. The independent variables were Age, Type of family and Locality. The dependent variable includes in the study was to incorporate various leadership qualities to the young adults with disabilities especially women. Pre and posttest was conducted using the leadership checklist developed by the investigators. Intervention was given through narration of success stories, oration on recent facilities, current trends and the problems faced by the individual in the society etc, in which the differently abled young adults were made to exhibit and share their ideas through various programs like mono-act, play, drama, and oration of their own experience with the society. Through which the 30 young adults with disabilities were made to express their needs and ideas. This study made everyone to participate and gain skills regarding role of leadership in their life. In this current era even the typical peers has to develop leadership skills for facing the society confidently; in the case of differently abled it is the role of every teacher educators to initiate leadership programs for the differently abled those who are enrolled in higher education. This can be made through various programmes and practices, but the main aim is to make the differently abled more confident on collaring the society and to enhance leadership skills for a better livelihood. Index Terms-Leadership skills, young adults, livelihood, intervention and success stories. _______________________________________________________________________ I.INTRODUCTION India has the largest population of adolescents in the world being home to 243 million individuals. It has been estimated that estimated 70 million people with disabilities i,e., 5.6 percent of the country's population. In Indian society, there is a deep-rooted social stigma toward body impairment or disfigurement as "inauspicious," thus limiting interaction between people with disabilities and the rest of society. People with disabilities face barriers to education, employment, and public services that could otherwise help them escape poverty. Buildings and transportation are often inaccessible. They also often suffer from social discrimination, stereotypes, and exclusion. As in the general population, there is strong gender and geographic differences among people with disabilities; women and girls in rural areas are often the most disadvantaged. The government has initiated a plethora of programs to promote employment for them, but the impact to date has been negligible. In 2008, for example, the Indian Finance Minister allocated $360 million for a program to reimburse employers who provide jobs to disabled workers. The aim was to create 100,000 jobs per year, but after three years, the program had generated only 465 jobs. This might be because they lack with prior leadership skills to face the work spot and the society. 1.1 OBJECTIVES The objectives of this study were to mount leadership skills among diffrenly abled young adults with disabilities especially women. The following are the other objectives of the study. To identify the young adults with disabilities especially women in higher education. To develop various programmes to incorporate leadership skills. To develop a checklist for assessing leadership qualities. To find out the effectiveness of the programmes conducted for enhancing leadership skills.

This study examines the perceptions of individuals with disabilities concerning employment opportunities as administrative leaders in public school contexts. A discussion of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, as well as the definition of what is considered a legal disability, as provided in Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. Additionally, this piece explains Critical Disability Theory as a theoretical lens that provides perspective and highlights the methods used in the data collection process. It reports preliminary findings and concludes with a discussion of why this educational issue is of significance.

Many individuals with disabilities require accommodations to support their full inclusion within post-secondary education and training programs. In this study, we examined the processes by which accommodations were developed and provided to two individuals with disabilities ('self-advocate trainees') participating in a graduate-level leadership training program using an exploratory descriptive case study approach. Data representing the type and frequency of accommodations provided to both self-advocate trainees and data from semi-structured interviews with one selfadvocate trainee and her learning partner informed the case. Data were triangulated with faculty and research team records and notes to provide rich description of the processes and enhance the rigour of the overall study. Analyses included basic descriptive analyses and multiple rounds of qualitative thematic analysis. Findings suggest five types of accommodations were provided throughout the program duration. Although the frequency of accommodations decreased throughout the year, the self-advocate trainee and her learning partner who were interviewed expressed general satisfaction with the accommodations processes and offered suggestions for improvement. Faculty records and notes illuminated approaches that worked well and those that needed improvement. Study findings may inform models for enhancing the meaningful inclusion of people with disabilities within graduate-level professional training programmes and other post-secondary settings.

The data collection uses sample survey method, which is a method of data collection carried out by withdrawing part of the population unit that is considered to represent the characteristics of the population in question (Moh. The quality of instruction in the education of deaf and hard-of-hearing students is based on comprehensive preservice teacher education programs and instructional supervision of beginning teachers by a qualified veteran teacher. However, declining enrollments in special schools for the deaf and the fragmented placement of hearing-impaired students in public schools has resulted in a lack of.instructional leadership available to beginning teachers, particularly in rural areas. The Intermountain Instructional Leadership Program (IILP) at Idaho State University prepares post-mascer's special education teachers to provide instructional leadership for deaf and hearing-impaired students in a variety of public school placement options. The focus of training is on a collaborative consultant approach to working with schools, agencies, organizations, communities, and parents in improving the education for deaf and hearing-impaired students. The program consists of 14 months of training resulting in an educational specialist's degree. Graduate students complete 30 hours of post-master's courses at Idaho State University, plan and implement a professional study resulting in a research report, and complete a practicum or internship. Currently, the IILP is developing a "Professional Leadership" series that gives students exposure via satellite courses to instructional leaders in the field of deaf education. It is hoped that this graduate program, with its emphasis on placements in rural areas, will contribute significantly to the development of appropriate, quality educational programs and services for deaf and hard-of-hearing students in rural public schools.
Disability is an important and often overlooked component of diversity. Individuals with disabilities bring a unique perspective to science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and medicine (STEMM) because of their unique experiences approaching complex issues related to health and disability, navigating the healthcare system, creatively solving problems unfamiliar to many individuals without disabilities, managing time and resources that are limited by physical or mental constraints, and advocating for themselves and others in the disabled community. Yet, individuals with disabilities are underrepresented in STEMM. Professional organizations can address this underrepresentation by recruiting individuals with disabilities for leadership opportunities, easing financial burdens, providing equal access, fostering peer-mentor groups, and establishing a culture of equity and inclusion spanning all facets of diversity. Leadership development has been viewed as a foundational component of agriculture education and the FFA since the early 20 th century (Hoover, Scholl, Dunnigan, & Mamontova, 2007). To contribute to previous research in the field of leadership, this study lays the framework for future studies on the leadership styles of those individuals who lead today's youth in FFA programs across the State of Texas. This study describes FFA advisors of successful FFA programs in terms of their leadership styles, leadership training/educational background, and suggests how FFA advisors could use their leadership styles to improve their programs.
