The Messiah Prophecy

The Messiah According to the Tanakh, 2024

For over 3,000 years, the Jews have been in anticipation of their Messiah, a wait that continues. I argue that their interpretations of the Tanakh's prophecies have been influenced by subjectivity and selectivity, rather than a comprehensive, objective analysis of all relevant prophecies. This study is a call for an urgent, objective analysis of the Tanakh's prophecies, to consider what interpretations of the Messiah's arrival may have been overlooked.

Broadly speaking, the subject of the Christology that is still worth talking about in the academic pulpit is the title "Messiah" carried by Jesus Christ. In general, the Judeo-Islamic community and some Christians are still dilemma in positioning Jesus, especially regarding the worthiness of Jesus Christ to be accepted as the Messiah. Placing Jesus Christ in the right place for all three of these great religions has proven to be no easy matter. Especially for Judeo-Islam, Christians generally accept Jesus Christ as the Messiah. On the contrary for Jews and Islam. Some Jews gave rise to a half-movement of Judaism and half-Christians in terms of seeing Jesus as the Messiah. Likewise with Islam. Review Article The term Messiah in the Old Testament had no one strict meaning. The meaning of the term was developed over a long period of time. Various designations of messianism are equally influenced by the historical situation of the biblical interpreters and their ability to interact with the text their social circumstances and their ability to engage other scholars. This paper is a survey of various scholars and their views as can be found in their books and publications. Scholars at a certain time in history focussed on certain layers of messianic characters as they deduced from the biblical text. The variance in meaning confirms that the messianic characterisation was equally rooted in the circumstances of interpreters of different world views. Their texts confirm to be social constructs of the interpreters‟ circumstances. This is confirmed in the variety of meaning related to the term.

MESSIAH IS THE MOST IMPORTANT SUBJECT OF THE OLD TESTAMENT. THE PROMISES OF THE MESSIAH'S ANCESTORS WERE VERY MANY AND, IN THE SAME TIME, VERY PROFOUND. ABRAHAM IS THE FIRST MAN WHEREOF GOD PROMISED TO BLESS THROUGH HIS SEED. THE TERM "SEED OF ABRAHAM" CAN BE PHYSICALLY UNDERSTOOD, HIGHLIGHTING A CERTAIN PERSON OR A GROUP OF PEOPLE, OR IT CAN BE SPIRITUALLY PERCEIVED, DESCRIBING MESSIAH. THIS ARTICLE INTENDS TO DESCRIBE BOTH SENSES OF THE TERM "SEED OF ABRAHAM", PROVING THAT THE MOST IMPORTANT ROLE OF ALL PROMISES TO ABRAHAM WAS TO SHOW MESSIAH WHO WILL BE THE INITIATOR AND THE PROTECTOR OF HIS CHURCH.

The concept of Messiah a basically reformed in Judaism and Christianity is the principal matter of this paper. This concept that was outlined by more humanely worries can be found in many cultures. Nonetheless the main purpose is to evaluate it only chronologically from Judaism to Islam, that is to say, the Covenant Tradition. It is tried to clearly understand that which kind of transformation been faced about it and on the other hand what is approach of Holy Qur'ān the last ring of the revelation to this concept's adventure throughout history and which imagination can be true in terms of Qur'ān. Consequently, it can be accepted that the concept of Messiah has been as an important sample of instrument for disregarding human nature.
