Ecotourism in the architectural imagination

Abstract

Ceridwen Owen is a lecturer in the School of Architecture at the University of Tasmania where she teaches in design studio, technology and Environmentally Sustainable Design (ESD). She is also a registered practising architect in Australia and a partner with Core Collective Architects. She undertook her architectural training the UK at the Edinburgh College of Art and at the Mackintosh School of Architecture in Glasgow. She then went on to complete a Doctorate in Architecture at the University of Melbourne on the relationship between sustainability and the culture of architectural practice. Her current research interests encompass ecophilosophy in design, ecotourism and the sociology of the profession of architecture.
