Abstract
The book is intended as a beginning text in stochastic processes for students familiar with elementary probability theory. The objectives of the book are threefold: 1. To introduce students to use standard concepts and methods of stochastic process. 2. To illustrate the diversity of applications of stochastic processes. 3. To provide exercises in the application of simple stochastic analysis to appropriate problems.

Knowledge diffuses from papers and books to online websites and databases which also ease the digging for knowledge in the fascinating field of proba bility theory.
A first version of these notes were written as a part of a graduate level course on adaptive signal processing at Karlstad University during 2004. The material is aimed to be an introduction to stochastic processes, but also contains some brief notes on optimal and constrained filtering. For a more complete description of the material, the reader is referred to [1–5].

This solution manual remains under construction. The current count is that 575 out of 695 problems in the text are solved here, including all problems through Chapter 5.

An introduction to the theory of stochastic processes based on several sources. The presentation follows the books of van Kampen and Wio. The introduction is essentially that of Gardiner's book, whereas the treatment of the Langevin equation and the methods for solving Fokker-Planck equations are based on the book of Risken.
