Here, we are going to discuss about two aspects,-firstly, the history of the film magazines and secondly, the nature of the articles (structure pattern & content) in those magazines and their evolution. There had been developmental changes from the pre-independence silent films to post-independence golden era of films. With the developmental changes, the film criticism, too, changed with advancing time. Film journalism was not limited to magazines anymore, it made its presence felt in television as well as internet. This paper attempts to discuss the transition of film journalism from the first Indian film magazine, 'Bijoli' to the present times in context of Bengal.

Through a meticulous analysis of historical and contemporary examples, this research aims to shed light on the multifaceted dynamics between these two influential forms of communication. The study commences by defining the key concepts of political propaganda and political cinema, offering a comprehensive understanding of their origins, evolution, and significance in the political landscape. It further investigates the motives and objectives behind the utilization of propaganda and cinema as tools for political influence, drawing parallels between the persuasive strategies employed by each. A central focus of this research lies in the examination of the symbiotic relationship between political propaganda films and political cinema. It explores the ways in which cinema has served as a vehicle for political propaganda, using visual storytelling, symbolism, and emotional appeal to convey political messages. Conversely, the study investigates how political propaganda has influenced the content, aesthetics, and narratives of political cinema, creating a feedback loop of shared visual and rhetorical elements. To provide a comprehensive comparison, the study identifies case studies from different historical periods and assessing the effectiveness and ethical implications of political propaganda and political cinema in shaping public opinion, legitimizing political agendas, and perpetuating power structures. The research also analyses the reception and perception of political messages in cinema versus traditional propaganda mediums, such as posters, speeches, and pamphlets. In this comparative study sheds light on the complex relationship between political propaganda and political cinema, offering insights into the impact of visual and narrative storytelling on political discourse and public opinion. By exploring historical and contemporary examples, it provides a nuanced understanding of how these two forms of communication have been instrumental in influencing the course of political history and the perceptions of the masses.

The male gaze refers to the way in which visual media, such as films and advertisements, are often created from a heterosexual male perspective, objectifying women as passive objects of desire. According to Mulvey, mainstream media tends to present women as objects to be looked at, catering to the presumed heterosexual male viewer. This gaze often involves the camera positioning the viewer as a male observer who gazes upon female characters who are typically presented as sexualized objects. This objectification can perpetuate gender stereotypes and reinforce power imbalances between men and women. Mulvey argued that the male gaze is deeply ingrained in the film language, with techniques such as close-ups of women's bodies, voyeuristic camera angles, and the objectification of women's bodies for the pleasure of male viewers. She further highlighted how the male gaze positions women as passive and denies them agency and subjectivity. The concept of the male gaze has been widely discussed and critiqued in feminist theory and media studies. Some argue that the male gaze is not limited to visual media and can also be observed in other forms of media and everyday life. Critics of the male gaze advocate for more diverse and inclusive representations of gender in media, challenging the objectification and sexualization of women and promoting more empowering and complex female characters. In this paper we want to understand the male gaze and its presence in Indian cinema. The paper's major goal is to show how Indian film is impacted over time by the male gaze.

In order to establish what aspects now attract viewers to movie theatres, we followed the top grossing south Indian and Hindi films over the past two years for the purpose of this article. The study's findings show that popular South Indian films and Hindi or "Bollywood" films share some characteristics that are relevant to both types of theatres in terms of box office successes or failures. All of the previously recognised affecting aspects are completely applicable to all of the films, but certain new factors that are present but hidden behind more established ones are equally significant and obvious, and the study will focus on those.

Traditional cinema has faced less footfall in theatres in recent decades. OTT platforms are an easily available entertainment medium throughout the year, for the cost of one or two movie tickets in multiplexes. OTT platforms give their consumers hundreds of films and web series. Films have become shorter, and some are just a collection of short films put together-an anthology. The web series trend is one of the most popular. Potboilers and mass entertainers have made way for subtler, more meaningful cinema. This paper will investigate the OTT platforms' effects on traditional cinema goers of urban residents of Kolkata. The study will also look into Kolkata residents' attitudes toward single-screen or multi plex cinema halls. The goal of the study is to identify the driving forces behind the switch from traditional movie theatres to OTT platforms, as well as the current situation of single-screen moviegoers and any alterations to their viewing patterns.

Generally, we desperately want to avoid this emotion because it causes distress and terror. However, the aesthetics and psychology behind horror films describe "fear" as a pleasurable experience. "Fear" is an essential element in the horror genre. Horror films have always been one of the most interesting and attractive film genres among Indian viewers. Affection for horror films by Indian film lovers has defeated the barrier of language. Some of the Indian horror films are categorized as B-grade films because of their sexual content, low-grade acting quality, and poor technical support (Ramsay movies). Instead of the flood of B-grade horror films, the Indian horror film market has experienced good production with reasonable budgets at regular intervals. Hollywood films have successfully established their presence in most parts of the world over the years, though they have yet to triumph over Indian dramas, romances, action, and rom-com genre films. Here, viewers prefer to watch Indian romantic family dramas and comedies over Hollywood films. But this statement is not applicable to Indian horror genre films. Indian film viewers love to watch
