Knowledge management and organizational learning: typologies of knowledge strategies in the Spanish manufacturing industry from 1995 to 1999

Investigates organizational knowledge strategies in Spanish industry; using survey questionnaire ... more Investigates organizational knowledge strategies in Spanish industry; using survey questionnaire covering: organizational knowledge management, organizational learning and performance. Applies Bierly and Chakrabarty’s typology of generic knowledge strategies to perform cluster analysis and classify firms. Implications for strategy emerge: each firm owns a specific bundle of resources forming organizational capabilities; uniqueness nature is outcome of different organizational decisions. Knowledge strategies determine stocks and flows of organizational knowledge and competitive advantage of firms. Decisions involving trade‐offs between knowledge exploitation or exploration, internal or external knowledge, breadth of knowledge base, etc. should be made to configure the best strategy. Results show organizational performance varies across clusters. Knowledge strategy should be integrated among strategic decisions to get good organizational fit.

Five distinctive values were revealed using direct observation and Delphi Techniques: a high tolerance for ambiguity, sustainable innovation, independence, high risk-taking propensity, and external locus of control. Since teachers consist-ently claim that materials centred on events on the island of Java (Java-based approach) dominate social studies instruction, the finding of this study can be used as a model for developing supplementary materi-al based on the real example of locality uniqueness.

As a result, hospitals must ensure that their waste management policies do not add to the dangers posed to both human health and the environment. In this study, we aimed to determine the effect that varying doses of disinfectant in conjunction with andosol soil had on the total number of bacteria present in the medical waste generated by three hospitals in Semarang City, Indonesia. According to the findings of the study, the most efficient method for decreasing the overall number of microbial colonies by 93% was a combination involving soil (at a percentage of 30) and chlorine (at a concentration of 0.75 ppm). As a consequence of this, and due to the limited technology available, this straightforward method can become an alternative for the healthcare industry in managing medical waste before dumping or incinerating it. ...

Namun, perbedaan kepentingan dan kemauan seseorang dengan lainnya menjadi kurangnya hidup bermasyarakat, hal ini akan menimbulkan lingkungan pergaulan yang kurang harmonis. Padahal interaksi sosial meliputi lingkup sosial yang lebih luas khususnya pada masyarakat bantaran sungai di Kelurahan Banua Anyar. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan interaksi sosial masyarakat bantaran sungai Martapura di kelurahan Banua Anyar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode deskriptif. Data yang didapatkan melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Uji keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi sumber, teknik dan waktu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada beberapa bentuk interaksi sosial masyarakat bantaran sungai Martapura di Kelurahan Banua Anyar pada aspek sosial, ekonomi dan keagamaan. Satu diantara bentuknya yaitu gotong royong membersihkan sungai, penyaluran bantuan sosial, kegiatan pengajian, dan aktivitas jual beli. Adanya bentuk-bentuk kegiatan yang terjadi di Kelurahan Banua Anyar menggambarkan manusia yang tidak dapat hidup secara individu melainkan dibantu oleh manusia lainnya karena dilakukan secara bersamasama untuk mencapai tujuan bersama sehingga menciptakan kontak sosial serta komunikasi yang terjalin erat.

Preserving small-scale fisheries is the main concern of governments in sustainable growth develop... more Preserving small-scale fisheries is the main concern of governments in sustainable growth development because more than 90% of fishers and workers make a living in this business including in floodplain wetlands currently affected by external shocks. Applying the sustainable livelihoods approach (SLA) and framework, this research aimed to analyse the impact of environmental changes on fishing livelihoods in South Kalimantan, Indonesia. Questionnaire administration and in-depth interviews were employed as data collection methods, and structural equation modelling was tested on samples of 550 fishers. We found that environmental changes in natural conditions and human activities had adverse effects on the sustainability of fishing livelihoods. Fishers found massive development disruptive to their fishing activities, putting their livelihoods at risk and making them vulnerable. After supervision has been completed, the results were then compared with the control group that has been given high-risk leaflet prevention for pregnant women. National development in all areas of life has progressed. However, it seems that the development ... more National development in all areas of life has progressed. However, it seems that the development is not accompanied by the strengthening of values, such as the values of social solidarity in the life of the nation is getting low. Haul of Guru Sekumpul is a picture of a society that is identic with solidarity, so it is important to be excavated as part of a strategy to overcome the various problems of the nation. Therefore, this study used a qualitative approach with the research subjects of people from Martapura and surrounding communities. The collection of data was obtained through observation before and during the implementation of the haul (a year commemoration to someone who had passed away). Depth interviews were conducted with five (5) key informants who were selected based on the level of knowledge of the haul Guru Sekumpul, the organizers, volunteers, donors, and community Martapura. Research analysis by following the Miles and Huberman model. The results showed that the ceremonial of haul Guru Sekumpul has spawned solidarity illustrated by the attitude of brotherhood and kinship high marked their mutual respect, mutual help, mutual responsibility, and caring neighbor to help each other. Social care is shown in the form of the provision of venue, parking lot, health services, and consumption that it can be obtained for free. Haul of Guru Sekumpul reinforces the values of social solidarity to build Indonesia more developed in various aspects of life as capital to face the global challenges.
