In many countries, it is only beginning to witness the activity of self-actualization, assertiveness and independence by women. Despite the fact that the power of the female emerged in the Western hemisphere, many women are still compelled to put on a mask, a veil and a type of purdah in many countries of the world. This piece of research attempts to examine the politics of feminism in the poetry of Elizabeth Bishop, Anne Sexton, and Adrienne Rich. The findings of this study reveal that Elizabeth Bishop maintains a reticent and covert kind of feminism where she revolts against the male's exploitation of the woman's body and expresses her regret for the loss of romantic and spiritual love, Anne Sexton makes out of her bitter experiences a catalyst for women to struggle for their rights, while Adrienne Rich takes feminism to its extremes as she calls for a rigorous and radical revision of the existing Western culture which is based on patriarchal principles.

Kalila wa Dimna, originally written by Bidpai in Sanskrit, is a series of stories or fables told by animal characters. It has been translated into many world languages since its first debut in the third century AD, and it became an inspiring source for many great authors. Animal Farm, on the other hand, is a novella by a famous twentieth century English novelist, George Orwell. Both narratives are simple and based on allegory in which animals are made to speak, act, and behave as human beings do. Each animalstands for a typical human trait and behavior and reveals a cultural or political significance. Bidpaiand Orwell skillfully show a kaleidoscopic panorama of human nature and cultural implicature throughironic animal interactions and entanglements. They satirically attack social injustice and criticize prejudices, abuses, and evils through the mastery ofanimal characterization and symbolism. Thus, this piece of research attempts to give readersa glimpse into the complexity of human nature exposed by animal charactersand sheds a new light intothesocial, cultural, and behavioral implicature shroudedin Kalila wa Dimna and Animal Farmwhich belong to two different periods and cultures. The effects of globalization on his writings have assisted in the creation of a European atmosphere in Egypt and the Arab World. Today, the new developments in technology and media have made globalization inevitable where age-long traditions are loosening up. Local culture and identity have been giving way to global culture. The citizen of the world becomes a cliché for an individual whose outlook is cosmopolitan. The emphasis here is to create a holistic perspective of globalization and its effects on culture and identity. Being exposed to a foreign culture, Taha Hussein experienced a culture shock, feelings of displacement, and an identity crisis as a result of the necessity of a rapid process of adjustment. This is reflected in his controversial writings and bold call for Egyptians to adopt Western culture. This might lead local cultures to face the destiny of cultural death. Thickness of cultural interactions in a globally everchanging world has dramatically created an endless debate and controversial discourse not only in Egypt but in the whole world.

The nature of this relationship is organic and complementary. The function of the sociology is to underscore the connection between the social contexts and the social factors and determinants that drive people to action and literary expression. Literary production is an outcome of a social creative process. In recent years, a new branch of sociology came into existence called the sociology of literature. As it is concerned with the domain of literary study, the sociology of literature investigates the relationship between a work of literature and the social structure where it is produced. It further examines literary works from social, cultural, political and economic perspectives and explores the symbiosis between society and the author. The customs, traditions, values and norms of any society in a certain period of time are clearly reflected in the different genres of literature written during that period.

This kind of literature is unanimously known as city literature. It does not merely describe and portray places, objects, and landscapes for their own sake, it, however, gives readers a revisionist perspective to look afresh and introspectively into self, history, and culture. This paper aims to shed light on a city that witnessed great changes throughout its history. It is called Sana'a, the capital of Yemen, and it is one of such world-famous and ancient cities about which interesting and rich literature has been written. Sana'a has been immortalized in the prose and poetry of local and international prolific and intelligent writers such as Abdu al-Aziz al-Makkali, a famous contemporary Yemeni poet. Sana'a is magnificently portrayed in different exotic images in al-Makkali's collection of poetry entitled Book of Sana'a. The poet engages in a kind of dialogue with the city in a personal experience and unique particularity, but in the process, this particularity becomes cosmopolitan. Each poem is located in a particular space which gives the poet and reader alike a sense of the place, history, and culture, and an intense feeling of wider identification and empathy. Sana'a is anthropomorphically portrayed as a beautiful woman, sad woman, beloved lady, spirit, and city of heaven. It is fantastically depicted as a unique piece of artifact molded and designed by the hands of God. So, this piece of research attempts to analyze social and political imports and the different images of the city employed by al-Makkali in his poetic work: Book of Sana'a. As a theoretical framework, the paper adopts both historical theory of criticism as well as the formalist theory, so the analysis is focused on both context and text of the selected poems.

Moreover; it is a powerful expression of the sufferings, agonies and above all aspirations of the masses. The ability of human beings to articulate themselves in the form of literary discourse is the most substantial power they possess in shaping their destiny and life in general.
