Yves Winter’s book, “Machiavelli and the Orders of Violence” depicts violence sophisticatedly in a modern way, interpreting Machiavelli with his original thoughts. What Winter mainly does in his book is reinterpreting main discussions of Machiavelli, deviating from the traditional interpretation of the violence.
However, if the segregation is obvious, is there any solution we can find from Kafka’s novels to cure the state of alienation? This paper answers that question with three solutions. This paper proposes three solutions from Kafka’s novels, two from The Castle, one from In the Penal Colony. The three of them are self-doubt, self-affirmation, and solidarity in real relationships.
