In the Nigerian situation, where political evolutions, regional undercurrents, and governance encounters traverse, headlines play a fundamental role in making discernments of democracy, power, and national identity. Extant studies have investiagted media framing and favoritism with limited attention paid to how headlines, through linguistic and pragmatic strategies, encode and disseminate ideological meanings. This study addresses this scholarly gap by critically examining selected Nigerian political newspaper headlines using the frameworks of Critical Discourse Analysis and Grice’s Cooperative Principle. The aim is to interrogate the dominant ideological themes and discursive patterns within these headlines, uncover the pragmatic mechanisms used to frame political actors and events, and explore how such discursive constructions shape social identities and public perception of governance. Findings reveal that Nigerian political headlines strategically reproduce ideologies such as elite power consolidation, democratic legitimacy and erosion, technocratic governance, regional marginalisation, and the dichotomy of unity versus dissent. Through metaphorical language, nominalisation, and selective lexical choices, these headlines consistently frame political crises as constitutional or historical inevitabilities, thereby legitimising elite narratives while marginalising alternative voices. Pragmatic analysis shows a frequent flouting of Grice’s maxims particularly Quantity and Manner through ambiguity, omission, and evaluative framing, which enhances the persuasive power of headlines while maintaining a façade of objectivity. The headlines not merely replicate but keenly figure Nigeria’s political realities by normalising conflict, strengthening dominant ideologies, and concurrently presenting emergencies as possible catalysts for democratic regeneration.

Increased efforts have also been made to integrate drama fully into the school curriculum for the exploration of the multifaceted importance of drama. Despite milestone achievements, drama in education seems not to have sufficiently bridged the divide between children's learning and the cultural realities of their immediate environments. This study seeks to emphasise the importance of classroom drama to children in preserving narratives for cultural consciousness and personality development. It will also highlight the benefits of children's engagement and participation in classroom drama to promote cultural inclusivity and integration. This study will adopt a qualitative research method that involves participatory action research, planning, acting, and observation, with the ultimate intention of exploring diverse perspectives, dimensions, and experiences through role play, folk songs, and storytelling. Participants between the ages of 9-13 in primary four will be exposed to sessions of classroom drama for interactive learning. The findings of this research are expected to serve as a guide to teachers in schools to employ drama strategies in the classroom to promote cultural awareness. This study will position classroom drama as a viable channel of ensuring that educational practices resonate with the cultural context of the school environment and student experiences. This will further promote cultural integration, acceptance, and social interaction for holistic human development.

This study investigates the adaptive social protection (ASP) theory of humanitarianism. Adaptive... more This study investigates the adaptive social protection (ASP) theory of humanitarianism. Adaptive Social Protection encompasses three key aspects of practice: social protection (SP), disaster risk reduction (DRR), and climate change adaptation (CCA). These aspects have evolved from diverse origins, driven by the goal of reducing susceptibility and building resilience. These interrelated groups of practice distribute, reduce vulnerability, and build resilience. In 2014, the ASP initiative began, which took place in six countries in the Sahel region: Burkina Faso, Chad, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, and Senegal. It was completed in 2019.
ASP reflects hazardous procedures and climate changes that eradicate the origin of susceptibility, lack, and inequality. This concept is important because of the difference between handling and the ability to adapt. This reduces the adverse influences of worldwide encounters and transformation in terms of poverty, food insecurity, and climate change, which contribute to natural disasters. Adaptive social protection builds the resilience of deprived and susceptible households through the ability to prepare, handle, and adjust to shocks. It protects people’s well-being and safeguards them from poverty because of the shock effects. ASP systems are instruments used to reduce poverty and mitigate the effects of shocks. The following building blocks establish the ASP system: adaptive information, adaptive programmes, and adaptive financing.

Sanctions are actions taken by a government to stop other countries from trading, exchanging arms, opening overseas accounts, or traveling to other nations. It can be used to impact economic policy, such as removal channels or import taxes; affect military establishment resolutions, including weapons increases or human rights. Sanctions are consequences enforced by one country on another to stop aggressive behaviour or the violation of global regulations. They are among the strongest engagements countries take, instead of going to war.
Economic sanctions involve limitations on economic interests imposed by an international actor or another entity with a specific purpose. International sanctions are a fundamental ingredient in current universal relationships that are powerful instruments used against countries, non-state actors, and people who present a danger to universal accord and protection.
For societies under siege, the Russia-Ukraine crisis is being used. Russia attacked Ukraine on 24th February 2022. These attacks by the Russian army became global news. It is the inspired word of God, a reliable source of both truth and wisdom from God Himself and the standard for a believer’s life. It is the Word of God in a personal and transformative sense, holding authority in an individual’s life to the extent that its teachings resonate as true, morally upright, and spiritually meaningful to them. However, misconceptions about the Bible persist. Some believe that the Bible contains the Word of God and not the complete Word of God. While others argue that the Bible is not the Word of God but it is also is the Word of God. A more extreme view is that the Bible is not the word of God at all. This view dismisses the Bible as merely a fallible human book devoid of divine authority. Meanwhile, this presentation affirms the Bible as the Word of God. The descriptive approach is adopted. It is discovered that the Bible stands as the timeless word of God, its message piercing through ages. It is the sole valid basis for constructing doctrine, providing the necessary framework for understanding and applying Christian teachings. When correctly interpreted and contextualized with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the Bible becomes a timeless blessing for current and future generations, leading to personal transformation, church growth, and community impact.

This includes the board members, who are in charge of making sure that workers adhere to the code and disciplining those who do not. It is relevant to note that effective corporate governance is crucial to Heritage Bank's survival and sanitization because it provides the bank with certain indisputable advantages, such as increased profitability, strong and sound cash flow, a solid capital base, and ensuring that the interests of the bank and its employees are aligned for greater productivity. These banks encourage stakeholder interest and public trust, which will eventually boost depositor money and ensure the institution's growth. A robust banking sector is essential to the expansion of the financial market and the promotion of economic growth and development. On the other hand, issues could arise and negatively impact the bank's customers as well as the economy as a whole if its corporate governance is inadequate. Therefore, this study aims to examine the impact of corporate governance on Heritage Bank, provide recommendations for improving corporate governance inside the bank, and more thoroughly examine the negative consequences of corporate governance failure on the bank.

Despite continental commitments to gender equality and notable progress in select nations like Rwanda, significant underrepresentation of women persists in foreign services, contradicting development goals and wasting critical human capital. Utilizing a mixed-methods sequential explanatory design, this research employs quantitative surveys and qualitative case studies across six African nations to investigate the root causes of these imbalances. It seeks to answer how cultural values shape inclusivity, what economic factors influence women’s pathways to leadership, and to what extent existing policies effectively address unique challenges. The study hypothesizes that constitutional quotas, economic empowerment, and mentorship significantly impact female representation and career progression. Expected findings will advance feminist international relations theory by centering African perspectives and will provide evidence-based recommendations for policymakers and diplomatic institutions. Ultimately, this research aims to develop a comprehensive framework for promoting sustainable gender inclusivity, thereby enhancing Africa’s ability to leverage its full human potential in an increasingly influential global role.
