It also evaluated the effectiveness of the coatings of tungsten carbide cobalt chromium (WC-Co-Cr) and aluminum titanium oxide (Al2O3-TiO3). To assess the durability of these coatings, Duplex stainless steel samples were subjected to mixed water jet erosion experiments. Afterward, the samples were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopes (SEMs) to determine their mechanical properties, erosion resistance, coating thickness, and roughness of the surface. The microhardness, water abrasive jet machine, and microscope technology were used for this analysis. The results of the study show that the speed of the slurry jet has a significant impact on erosion wear and is directly related to the erosion rate. In addition, the use of the WC-Co-Cr coating significantly improved the erosion resistance of Duplex stainless steel. However, it was found that the Al2O3-TiO3 coating brought even more significant improvements and demonstrated its remarkable efficacy in combating erosion. These findings have a major academic significance because they show how coatings can improve the durability of materials under demanding mining conditions. The knowledge gained through this study can be applied to optimize mining equipment and operations and to promote safer and more effective mining practices.

This research offers a comprehensive literature review on sizing Uninterruptible Power Supplies (... more This research offers a comprehensive literature review on sizing Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) and battery banks for residential applications. Its objective is to distill current knowledge and practices, facilitating informed UPS and battery bank selection to ensure uninterrupted power supply and safeguard electronic devices. Factors influencing sizing decisions, including load requirements, UPS efficiency, battery backup duration, voltage, wire loss, battery efficiency, aging, depth of discharge, and operating temperature, are meticulously assessed. Key findings emphasize the critical importance of these elements in optimizing sizing choices. Furthermore, the paper underscores practical insights from prior research and real-world applications. A practical model featuring a single engine and a small gasoline tank, functioning as a generator and alternator, illustrates the tangible implications of UPS and battery bank sizing beyond theory. In summary, this literature review synthesizes existing knowledge on UPS and battery bank sizing for residential use. It equips users with a framework for informed decision-making, summarizing established practices and highlighting critical considerations. This knowledge empowers users to avoid product mismatches, enhance energy storage systems, and ensure dependable power backup in residential environments.
