Currently, he is a Ph.D. student of English Language Education, Faculty of Letters Universitas Negeri Malang, Indonesia. Despite numerous previous studies that investigated the adoption of photovoice as the method to c... more Despite numerous previous studies that investigated the adoption of photovoice as the method to capture both students' and teachers' past experiences in qualitative research and educational settings, more needs to be done to explore how student-teachers voice their learning experience (e.g., beliefs, emotions, values or perceptions) and, in particular, online thesis examination experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic. To extend this scholarship, this phenomenological case study reports how student-teachers articulated their critical incidents while enacting an online thesis examination in a higher education context using the under-utilized data collection method of photovoice. Out of sixteen student teachers who took part in an online thesis examination, three student-teachers were recruited as the participants in this study. Findings reveal a visual illustration of the experiences and provide insight and understanding of this phenomenon. This study demonstrates that teacher educators, curriculum developers, and faculty members should recognize students' feelings during an online thesis examination to provide a more responsive experience. Resumen A pesar de los numerosos estudios previos que investigaron la adopción de la FotoVoz como método para capturar las experiencias pasadas tanto de los estudiantes como de los docentes en entornos educativos y de investigación cualitativa, se necesita hacer más para explorar cómo los estudiantes-docentes expresan su experiencia de aprendizaje (por ejemplo, creencias, emociones, valores o percepciones) y, en particular, las experiencias de examen de tesis en línea durante la pandemia de COVID-19. Para contribuir al campo, este estudio de caso fenomenológico informa cómo los estudiantes-docentes articularon sus incidentes críticos mientras presentaban un examen de tesis en línea en un contexto de educación superior utilizando el método de recopilación de datos infrautilizado de FotoVoz (photovoice). De dieciséis estudiantes de magisterio que participaron en un examen de tesis en línea, tres fueron reclutados como participantes en este estudio. Los hallazgos revelan una ilustración visual de las experiencias y brindan información y comprensión de este fenómeno. Este estudio demuestra que los formadores de docentes, los desarrolladores de planes de estudios y el profesorado deben reconocer los sentimientos de los estudiantes durante un examen de tesis en línea para brindar una experiencia más receptiva.
