The most prominent among them is Google's SPDY, which aims to reduce page load delay by introducing some novel features in its protocol. Initial performance metrics are encouraging and deployment across the web is increasing. This paper is divided into 5 sections. Section 1 discusses the motivation behind SPDY. Section 2 discusses SPDY's architecture. Section 3 discusses SPDY's performance. Section 4 discusses its deployment. Section 5 discusses future work. Section 6 concludes.
