The variations in the process parameters discussed in this review paper are: variation of the downward force, variation of the probe angle, length of probe, shape of shoulder, rotational speed of the tool, pin profile, traverse speed and working conditions. The setups used in majority of places consist of vertical milling machines. It has been observed that the joint strength is increased between the dissimilar materials on introducing a third foil of roughly ...

The effects of different fusion and solid-state welding processes on joining with related and dissimilar metals are discussed. It is designed for an application that requires a very high amount of strength and corrosion resistance. The high chromium, nickel, and molybdenum provide good resistance to pitting, crevice, and general corrosion. Being Austenitic stainless steel, it has some qualities such as corrosion resistance, high strength, and high concentrations of chromium and nickel. However, it will emphasize material growth, microstructure, corrosion properties such as critical pitting corrosion temperature and crevice corrosion resistance, duplex stainless steel heterogeneous deformation behavior, and mechanical properties such as tensile properties, fatigue properties, and hardness.

Th... more Today is the world of stiff and cut-throat competitiveness among the manufacturing industries. The objective of every industry is to produce better quality products at minimum cost and increase productivity. Welding is a process where the coalescence of two metals is achieved by the application of heat and/or pressure with or without filler metal. This is the only technique for developing the monolithic structure. Welding defects can cause practical problems if not solved. The TIG welding is also called Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), which uses a nonconsumable tungsten electrode to produce the weld. TIG welding is used to produce high-quality welds and is popular among welding processes. Its productivity depends upon many factors like arc voltage, shielding gas, weld speed, and heat generated during the welding process. This paper is an attempt to present a review about the welding of ferritic stainless steel between AISI 410S and AISI 430 by the TIG welding process.

Hence, rather than one explicit coal, the mixed coal ought to be planned which may help in accomplishing better coal properties because of the determination of ideal metallurgical substance. In the present investigation, a linear programming approach has been utilized to accomplish the alluring extent of constituents. MATLAB programming has been consolidated further, for making coal mixes having different qualities and display different applications for example shoot heater in steel creation businesses and so forth Seven coal tests are utilized for making coal mixes. Results demonstrate that low debris, low dampness, low Sulfur guarantees predominant coke creation with improved proficiency of coke stove plant and coke quality.

Different materials have been melted in the furnace and the optimization of process parameters has been carried. The application of electricity ensures conservation of fossil fuels and reduce pollution by decreasing the emission of harmful gases.

Among the different existing stainless steel grades, austenitic stainless steels (ASS) are used in roughly 60-70 % of uses, yet ASS requires nickel as its major resulting. One of the better choices to supplant austenitic stainless steel is ferritic grades, which contain less nickel and have very much like execution at a generally lower cost. The current investigation is an endeavor to feature the different welding strategies (fusion/solid-state) which are used most, for the joining of these ferritic stainless steel (FSS) grades. The writing affirms that because of the metallurgical issues related to fusion welding processes, solid-state joining processes, for example, forge welding, pressure welding, ultrasonic welding and friction stir welding (FS...

Based on the ANSYS software, uncoupled thermal– mechanical three-dimensional (3-D) finite element model was developed. The distortion of welded plate is found to be a nonlinear problem in geometry and material; therefore, the finite element solution is based upon the thermo-elasto-plastic and large deflection theory. The complex phenomenon of submerged arc welding is numerically solved by sequentially coupled transient, non-linear thermo-mechanical analysis. In this paper we studied the effects of welding and design parameters like welding current, welding speed and thickness of the plate. The simulated result shows that the angular distortion increases with the increase in heat input per unit area.
