These areas were chosen for their high population density and concentration of informal work activities, such as bottle collection. Busy urban spaces like train stations, shopping streets, and public parks provide optimal conditions for such occupations, which depend on high pedestrian traffic. The morning café in Nørrebro served as the primary field site. Guests, staff, and volunteers represented diverse nationalities, predominantly from Africa and Eastern Europe, highlighting

The study examines the concept of "cultural heritage" and its evolving boundaries, focusing on the subjective and value-laden criteria that govern what is preserved. The Danishdeveloped SAVE method, a point-based system evaluating architectural, cultural-historical, and environmental value, alongside originality and condition, is analyzed for its capacity to provide systematic yet inherently subjective evaluations (Høj & Stenak, 2011; Nielsen, 2005). Furthermore, the paper engages with contemporary debates surrounding the digitization of cultural heritage, considering how digital preservation challenges traditional notions of authenticity, materiality, and originality. By interrogating these theoretical and practical dimensions, this study aims to offer a nuanced understanding of the processes shaping cultural heritage selection today.

The politicization of prehistoric archaeological material creates dilemmas that require theoretical reflection. Debates surrounding cultural affiliation and land rights based on material culture are particularly relevant because archaeological finds often play a central role in identity formation. Archaeology clearly influences contemporary political debates, as well as national and societal self-perceptions. The past exerts a profound impact on both the present and the future, and archaeology, as a privileged co-author of the past, carries the responsibility for ethical research and communication. Current political themes-such as gender, power, status, race, colonialism, and nationalism-affect archaeological work. Denmark's history as a colonial power, for example, is evident in its archaeological collections, which require ethical consideration. Terms like "cultural heritage" are frequently used without reflecting on their subjective connotations. In Denmark, much dissemination occurs through increasingly commercialized institutions, complicating the theoretical considerations that should guide interpretation. The misuse of archaeological material for political purposes is not a new phenomenon, and sometimes has had serious consequences. Archaeologists must therefore remain aware of the power inherent in narratives of the past, which can shape understandings of the present and potentially fuel political conflict.

This study examines the Øresø Mølle excavation in Åmosen, Denmark, conducted in September 2020, highlighting practical excavation methods, site-specific challenges, and strategic considerations for improving the recovery of Mesolithic material. Findings emphasize the importance of careful pre-excavation planning, hand excavation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and prioritization of sites at risk of organic material deterioration.
