Mitigation of Power Quality Problems Using Novel DSTATCOM Operating Under Stiff Source
International Journal of Engineering Research, 2017
Normally induction motors connected to a stiff source cannot be protected from voltage disturbanc... more Normally induction motors connected to a stiff source cannot be protected from voltage disturbances in a distribution system using a distribution static compensator (DSTATCOM). A normal DSTATCOM can operate either in Voltage Control Mode (VCM) or Current Control Mode (CCM). When an induction motor operated under stiff source may get faults either from voltage disturbances or current disturbances. To solve this, a new control algorithm is proposed to make as multifunctional i.e, operated in VCM under stiff source and CCM in normal operation. From this, a fast voltage regulation is achieved at the load terminal and protects induction machine drive system during voltage disturbances and current disturbances. In this paper major power quality faults i.e, sag is injected and compensated using multifunctional DSTATCOM. The complete project is carried out using MATLAB/SIMULINK.

The P2P network traffic is classified into different classes based on four applications namely, Bit Torrent, PPLive, Skype and MSN. The concept of Hypersphere based classifiers being able to minimize the effect of outliers has been adapted in this work. The experimental results show low false positive and false negative ratio thereby achieving high precision and recall rate.

Handle huge amount of data or traffic over the network is most challenge full task in area of Intrusion Detection System to identify the intrusion by analyzing network traffic. So we have required the some efficient technique for analyze the anomaly from network traffic which have good detection rate with less false alarm and it should be also time efficient. Motivation by above, in this paper we present a Multi-density Clustering Algorithm for anomaly detection (MCAD) over huge network traffic (Offline statistical traffic). In this approach we have improved the Birch Clustering [1] index problem with ADWICE (Anomaly detection with fast Incremental Clustering) [2] model using grid index. We have used the Intra cluster distance parameter property which can improve the quality of cluster in respect of outliers by the average intra cluster distance reduction. So in this approach rather than threshold concept at insertion of data point in the cluster we have used the cluster quality indices for insert a data point in the cluster and checked it is being optimized or not. The method is verified by experimental of proposed approach on KDD'99 [3] data set which is standard off line data set. Experimental results illustrate better false alarm detection rate and time efficiency by using proposed MCAD approach.

Copyright protection has become a need in today's world. To achieve a secure copyright protection... more Copyright protection has become a need in today's world. To achieve a secure copyright protection we embedded some information in images and videos and that image or video is called copyright protected. The embedded information can't be detected by human eye but some attacks and operations can tamper that information to breach protection. So in order to find a secure technique of copyright protection, we have analyzed image processing techniques i.e. Spatial Domain (Least Significant Bit (LSB)), Transform Domain (Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT)), Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) and there are numerous algorithm for watermarking using them. After having a good understanding of the same we have proposed a novel algorithm named as Stage Staffing Algorithm that generates results with high effectiveness, additionally we can use self extracted-watermark technique to increase the security and automate the process of watermark image. The proposed algorithm provides protection in three stages. We have implemented the algorithm and results of the simulations are shown. The various factors affecting spatial domain watermarking are also discussed.

From the total conductivity derived from the dielectric spectrum the frequency exponent, s, and dc and ac components of the conductivity were determined. The temperature dependence of dc and ac conductivities at different frequencies was analyzed using Mott's small polaron hopping model, and the high temperature activation energies have been estimated and discussed. The observed initial decrease in conductivity (ac and dc) and increase in activation energy with the addition of MoO 3 have been understood to be due to the hindrance offered by the Mo + ions to the electronic motions. The observed peak-like behavior in conductivity (dip-like behavior in activation energy) in the composition range 0.20-0.50 mol fractions of MoO 3 may be due to mixed transition effect occurring in the present glasses. The temperature dependence of frequency exponent, s, has been analyzed using different theoretical models. It is for the first time that the mixed transition metal ion (TMI) doped borophosphate glasses have been investigated for dielectric properties and conductivity over wide temperature and frequency ranges and the data have been subjected to a thorough analysis.

Kinetic data show second-order kinetics with respect to hydroxide ion concentrations indicating the formation of hydrates by ketones in aqueous alkaline medium before their reaction with the oxidant. The rate follows direct proportionality with respect to the concentrations of hexacyanoferrate(III) and ketones. Externally added hexacyanoferrate(II) does not affect the reaction velocity indicating the reduction of oxidant takes place after the rate determining step. Orders with respect to various reactants were confirmed by various methods and the overall rate constant of the reaction was calculated by three different variations. Thermodynamic data suggest that 2-methyl-3-pentanone forms the activated complex more easily compared to 2-methylcyclohexanone.

In this study, we examined the protective effect of diallyl tetrasulfide from garlic on cadmium induced oxidative stress and apoptosis in vero cells. Exposure of vero cells to cadmium (10 M) for 18 h showed the apoptotic events such as loss of cell viability, alterations in nuclear morphology and decreased mitochondrial membrane potential with significantly increased levels of reactive oxygen species (super oxide anion and hydrogen peroxide). Treatment of vero cells with cadmium (10 M) and diallyl tetrasulfide (5-50 g/ml) showed that diallyl tetrasulfide attenuated the cadmium-induced suppression of cell viability in a dose dependent manner and highly significant effect was observed at 40 g/ml. The nuclei morphological analysis with 4 ,6-diamidino-2-phenylindole staining confirmed that diallyl tetrasulfide at 40 g/ml prevented the Cd (10 M) induced apoptosis. Flow cytometric analysis with 2 ,7-dichlorofluorencein diacetate showed that the inhibitory effect of diallyl tetrasulfide (10-40 g/ml) on reactive oxygen species generation parallel with its effect on cell viability. In addition, diallyl tetrasulfide (40 g/ml) remarkably reduced the cadmium-induced accumulation of superoxide radical and hydrogen peroxide with in cells. Further, diallyl tetrasulfide significantly protected the cadmium-induced decrease in mitochondrial membrane potential, an indicator of mitochondrial function. Our study suggest that diallyl tetrasulfide affect the reactive oxygen species generation induced by cadmium, and possesses a novel protective effect on the cytolethality associated with mitochondrial injury, which contributes to the antiapoptotic effect of diallyl tetrasulfide against cadmium.

The infrared and Raman spectra of glycine molecule has been studied in spectral region 400-4000 c... more The infrared and Raman spectra of glycine molecule has been studied in spectral region 400-4000 cm(-1) in solid form as well as in water. The vibrational frequencies for the fundamental modes of the glycine in neutral and its zwitterionic form have also been calculated using AM1 semiempirical method as well as ab initio method with minimal basis set. The reliability of the minimal basis set and AM1 method with higher basis sets, for IR spectra of the neutral glycine conformers were examined. We find that the 6-21G basis set calculation yields structural parameters, rotational constant and dipole moment of glycine conformers, which are very similar to those obtained from extended basis set calculation as well as experimental values. IR frequencies for glycine conformer I are also calculated in water using SCRF=PCM model and compared with experimental values. A comparison between calculated frequencies for neutral glycine, and its zwitterionic form with observed IR and Raman bands have been made. The total energies for gas phase glycine and its zwitterionic form along with those of hydrated forms were also calculated. It is found from the calculations that in the gas phase neutral glycine is more stable as compared to its zwitterionic form.
