Mainly rice-wheat cropping pattern was followed in selected districts along with sugarcane and maize. The objective of this study was to know the relationship of personal characteristics of respondents with perception towards the over-exploitation of water resources. The data were collected from 150 respondents comprising 15 respondents from randomly selected ten villages through a well-prepared interview schedule. Age, education, land holding, mass media exposure, and extension contact were significantly correlated with the perception of respondents. Age was negatively correlated while, education, land holding, mass media exposure, and extension contact were positively correlated with perception of respondents and the independent variables in the regression equation jointly explained the variation of 22.70 percent. There is a need to organize awareness campaign and trainings to develop the favorable perception towards over-exploitation of water resources.

Data was collected with the help of well-structured questionnaire and analysed using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). 25 faculty members were selected randomly from four purposively selected college of CCSHAU, Hisar. Study concluded that all of respondents had computer/laptop, internet, e-mail, and mobile phone/ telephone facilities available at department/workplace. Majority of the respondents also had printer (97.00%), scanner (83.00%), photocopier (77.00%) and LCD projector (74.00%).

Both shortage and excess of water affects the growth and development of the plants, yields and quality of produce. There are numerous methods to reduce such losses and to improve soil moisture like mulching, cropping pattern, planting of trees and water harvesting etc. The study was carried out in two agro-climatic zone i.e. north-eastern zone and south-western zone of Haryana state. A total 240 farmers were interviewed with well-structured interview schedule for awareness and constraints regarding water conservation practices. The findings revealed that farmers' had high awareness about 'canal water is best for crops', 'nearness of soil and water testing laboratory' and 'water harvesting reduce soil erosion'. The major constraints reported by farmers were 'Lack of soil and water testing facilities and delay in reports' and 'Deterioration of water quality in indigenous water harvesting structure'.

The study was conducted in two districts of Haryana state namely; Hisar and Karnal. A total number of 120 farmers were interviewed to analyze the constraints in adoption of best farm practices towards sequestration of GHGs and losses occurred. The study resulted that very serious losses occurred due to greenhouse gases were found crop benefit ratio decreased with mean score of 1.23, crop damaged due to adverse climatic uncertainty (1.07), crop production decreased (0.89), sowing season changed (0.86), loss in bio-diversity (0.84), less income earned from agriculture (0.81), soil water holding capacity decreased (0.68). The other serious losses perceived due to emission of GHGs were deeper level of ground water table (0.31), cropping pattern and cropping system changed (0.28), high usages of inorganic fertilizers (0.23), soil fertility decreases (0.13). While the constraints that were found responsible in non-adoption of best farming practices towards sequestration of GHGs were noticed as non-availability of package of practices (96.11%), lack of awareness about health risk in humans (94.72%), no reward for adoption of environmental measures (93.05%), lack of demonstration/ training for reducing GHG emission (91.11%), less credibility in farm practices (90%) were major problems observed in adoption of farm practices.

The study was conducted in two districts of Haryana state namely, Hisar and Sonipat and a total no. of two hundred forty respondents were selected and interviewed with the help of well-structured schedule. The study revealed that majority of the respondents were of middle age group (36-50 years), educated up to post graduate, belonged to a nuclear family up to five members, performed farming and other than farming had land holding up to 5 acres. The findings revealed that the overall awareness towards FDI in agricultural retail sector among the producers (20.06%), retailers (22.09%) and consumers (23.45%) were found low aware as per their responses and the existing perception level of producers about implementation of FDI in agricultural retail sector was found from the study that 38.33 percent of the respondents had agreed, whereas 50.00 per cent were undecided followed by 11.67 per cent had disagreed the studies showed that 35.00 percent of the respondents had agreed, while majority (61.00%) of the respondents were undecided and only 03.33 percent had disagreed and 41.66 per cent of the consumers had agreed, while half of the consumers (50.00 %) were undecided and only 08.33 per cent had disagreed.

The study was carried out in the purposively selected five districts of Haryana state due to the intensification and extensiveness of agricultural practices in recent times. . Methodology: The data were collected from 150 respondents comprising 15 respondents from randomly selected ten villages through a well-prepared interview. Results: The study revealed that majority of respondents belonged to the middle age group, 34.00 per cent of the respondents had the level of education up to matric only, more than two-thirds of respondents were living in joint families, nearly half of the respondents had medium size family, majority of respondents had farming as major occupation, nearly one third of respondents had the medium size land holding, most of the respondents were following only double cropping pattern, most of the respondents were using only tubewell/borewell/submersible for irrigation, all respondents were using only flood irrigation method, vast majority of respondents had only natural pond as a water conservation structure, more than half of respondents had the medium level of mass media exposure, and majority of respondents had high level of extension contacts and high level of perception.

The purpose of this study was to identify the constraints faced by farmers in adoption of smart agricultural practices in Haryana. Study was carried out (2017) in Hisar and Kaithal districts of Haryana state of India. Data were collected with the help of well-structured and pre-tested questionnaire. A sample of 180 respondents were explored in personal interviews using a three-point continuum scale for the constraints i.e. very serious, serious and not so serious and scores were given as 3, 2 and 1, respectively. Data were analysed using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). Present study concluded that major constraints for SAPs were lack of seeds of new high yielding varieties with weighted mean score (WMS) 2.36, lack of knowledge for seed treatment (2.36), lack of farm equipment (2.30), inadequate information (2.9...

Farmers use ICTs for various activities such as marketing, marketing price, time of market inflow, quality parameters that affect price, marketing procedure and other facilities available at marketplace. The results indicate that majority of the farmers use ICTs for the purpose of information of weather forecasting, crops related government policies, credit/loan facilities for crops cultivation, insurance of crop and subsidies for crop cultivation. The variables: education, socio-economic status, land holding, extension contact, mass media exposure, scientific orientation, economic motivation and risk orientation exhibited significantly positive correlation with marketing of agricultural produce, whereas age was significantly negatively correlated with marketing. The regression analysis shows significantly positive impact of education, socio-economic status, land holding, extension contact, mass media exposu...

The factors such as adverse climatic conditions, high potential of vegetables, fruits and flowers, agro inputs availability, small and fragmented land holdings and increased demand of quality vegetables necessitate the adoption of protected cultivation. Multiple cropping on the same piece of land, increased production and productivity per unit of land, water, energy and labour, high quality and clean products, high water and fertilizer use efficiency, subsidy provision for establishment of high cost infrastructure, round the year employment to the farmers were the major prospective aspects perceived by poly house farmers. While they facedthe problems like population explosion of minute insects like mites & white flies, especially the white fly menace, poor quality of cladding material, frequent occurrence of windstorms, hails...
