Gas phase odour abatement in sewer networks, particularly at sewer pumping stations, is most commonly achieved by using biofilters, biotrickling filters or activated carbon filters. Bench-scale and lab-scale studies tend to only investigate single contaminants under static conditions and typically at higher concentrations than found in field emissions. This review compares the performance of field-based gas phase abatement where the type and concentration of contaminants, along with operating parameters, vary considerably. The literature shows good performance by all technologies for hydrogen sulfide removal, with varying performance of other volatile sulfur and volatile organic compounds across all technologies. In particular, most technologies poorly remove or sometimes release halogenated compounds. Poor consistency is also found in the removal efficiency of many contaminants among the reviewed studies. There is a general lack of long-term performance data for activated carbon filters, compared to other technologies, with most studies investigating performance only at, or shortly after, start-up. Odour abatement in sewer networks can be improved with better understanding of inlet conditions to target the type of technology, operating parameters and the provision of multiple operating stages where the inlet conditions are poorly understood.

A highly sensitive method for the analysis of six sulfonamide antibiotics (sulfadiazine, sulfathi... more A highly sensitive method for the analysis of six sulfonamide antibiotics (sulfadiazine, sulfathiazole, sulfapyridine, sulfamerazine, sulfamethazine and sulfamethoxazole), two sulfonamide metabolites (N 4-acetyl sulfamethazine and N 4-acetyl sulfamethoxazole) and the commonly co-applied antibiotic trimethoprim was developed for the analysis of complex wastewater samples. The method involves solid phase extraction of filtered wastewater samples followed by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectral detection. Method detection limits were shown to be matrix-dependant but ranged between 0.2 and 0.4 ng/mL for ultrapure water, 0.4 and 0.7 ng/mL for tap water, 1.4 and 5.9 ng/mL for a laboratoryscale membrane bioreactor (MBR) mixed liquor, 0.7 and 1.7 ng/mL for biologically treated effluent and 0.5 and 1.5 ng/g dry weight for MBR activated sludge. An investigation of analytical matrix effects was undertaken, demonstrating the significant and largely unpredictable nature of signal suppression observed for variably complex matrices compared to an ultrapure water matrix. The results demonstrate the importance of accounting for such matrix effects for accurate quantitation, as done in the presented method by isotope dilution. Comprehensive validation of calibration linearity, reproducibility, extraction recovery, limits of detection and quantification are also presented. Finally, wastewater samples from a variety of treatment stages in a full-scale wastewater treatment plant were analysed to illustrate the effectiveness of the method.

Furthermore, dBG based broadcasting has been studied as local broadcasting and arc-disjoint spanning trees based broadcasting. However, their broadcasting algorithms can only work in dBG(2,k). In this paper, we investigate shortest path routing algorithms in the condition of existing failure, based on the Bidirectional de Bruijn graph (BdBG). And we also investigate broadcasting in BdBG for a degree greater than or equal to two 1 .
