The working hypothesis from which I started is the search for similarity of the graphemes represe... more The working hypothesis from which I started is the search for similarity of the graphemes represented in the Phaistos disc with graphemes of contemporary languages in the same geographical area. In particular, I turned my attention to the search for similarities between the graphic symbols of the Phaistos disc and those of the Egyptian hieroglyphic. This is because, imagining the Phaistos disc as a Cretan artefact, I wanted to assess whether the oldest language of the Aegean air, precisely the language of the ancient Egyptians, with whom the Minoan Cretans had a very close bond of commercial and cultural collaboration, could have influenced the language of the Phaistos disc.
