The investigation aims to check the effect of variation of gypsum and water content on the engine... more The investigation aims to check the effect of variation of gypsum and water content on the engineering properties of expansive soil by different experiments, namely, mini compaction test, Atterberg limit’s test, and unconfined compressive strength test along with microstructural analysis. The effect of gypsum (0%, 2%, 4%, 6%, 8%, and 10%), water content (ωopt − 3%, ωopt, and ωopt + 3%), and curing period up to 28 days on the strength of bentonite-gypsum mixtures was highlighted. The results of bentonite-gypsum mixtures showed an increment in maximum dry unit weight and decrement in the optimum water content up to 4% inclusion of gypsum. A gradual reduction in the liquid limit and plastic limit of bentonite-gypsum mixtures was observed with the increase in gypsum content and curing period. The unconfined compressive strength of the bentonite-gypsum mixtures increased continuously with the increase in gypsum content, water content, and curing period. The microstructural behavior of bentonite-gypsum mixtures showed evidence of pozzolanic product formation along with densification of the composite. The multiple regression analysis was also carried out to establish the relationship between the strength and maximum dry unit weight, liquidity index, and the additive content as well as curing period.

Owing to changing business conditions, stakeholders’ responsibilities, and the increasing demand for fair business practices, organizations currently focus on reversing traditional governance practices with new initiatives such as blockchain technology, and business intelligence (BI) governance. Internal stakeholders may have an influence on many organizational decisions in a microenvironment, such as compensation policy, recruitment policy, and dividend policy. For this purpose, the Securities and Exchange Committee of the United States has introduced the Sarbanes Oxley Law (SOX), while in India, the same law was introduced as “Clause 49,” issued in line with corporate governance by the Securities and Exchange Board of India. In this study, we compare the Indian version of corporate governance with the U.S. SOX by proposing BI as an essential strategy powered through blockchain technology.

With the rapidly evolving understanding of the nature, different forms and assessments of memory disorders, it becomes crucially important to periodically take stock of the nature of research that falls within its purview. Assessment of the nature of the memory disorder and the functional consequences for the individual should precede remediation and intervention planning. The present mini-review is one such attempt to provide a scan of the emerging empirical literature that has attempted to understand, assess and enhance memory disturbances in the clinical setting.

Besides the insects and underwater animals, some carnivorous plants which are capable of rapid movement, such as mimosa, the Venus flytrap, the telegraph plant, sundews and bladderworts, are of great interest for the biomimetic robot design. Carnivorous plants, such as Venus flytrap, can be turned on in a controlled manner to capture prey by using their trigger hairs as detecting sensors. Materials of micro/nano-scale provide outstanding results in miniature point-of-use devices because of their high surface-to-volume ratio. In this study, we report the successful synthesis of hollow polymethyl methacrylate microspheres (HPM) coated with functionalized carbon nanotubes (f-CNTs) (CHPM) by employing solvent evaporation and in situ coating techniques. The surface coating of HPM with the f-CNTs was visually confirmed by the surface roughness recorded in scanning electron microscopy. Furthermore, characterization with Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy substantiated the presence of hydroxyl and carboxyl groups of f-CNTs on the CHPM. The efficiency of CHPM to remove the turbidity from surface water was evaluated. The CHPM was effective in bringing down the turbidity of the water from 500 NTU to <1 NTU (>97%) which was within the desirable limit of the Bureau of Indian Standards. The temperature and pH for maximum reduction in turbidity were optimized to 49.5 °C and 4.5, respectively. Moreover, kinetic studies of CHPM indicated that the material followed the Langmuir isotherm model with regeneration efficiency lasting more than 10 cycles. From the results, we propose a simple, facile, and cost-effective synthetic route for the synthesis of CHPM for water purification, especially for turbidity removal. The synthesized CHPM with low density and relatively large surface area offer huge potential in water treatment applications and related fields.

The study explores about the rapid use of internet, mobile, etc.in lockdown that imposed in the country. Online shopping is now a days considered to be the most convenient way of shopping to get away free from the spreading virus and keep ourselves in safe and secure environment. The study involves quantitative research in the form of linear regression to evaluate the effects online shopping attributes on customer purchase behavior. The findings indicated that the main components like Social Media, Product Quality, Return and Exchange Policy, Product Descriptions and Seller Information significantly influence the customer purchase intention during the lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic. Some suggestions were also made to study further and predict the customer online buying preferences or behaviors in future post pandemic.

Before fumigation total 100 air samples (March 2014-December 2014) were collected from indoor of TMMC and RC Hospital by settle plate method. In this study, filamentous fungi were identified by th eir cultural characteristics, 10% KOH preparation and LCB preparation. The most prevalent fungi collected from air were Aspergillus spp. (43.0%), Mucor spp. (16.0 %), Fusarium spp . (12.0%), Rhizopus spp . (6.0%), Penicillium spp . (9.0%), and Others spp. (14.0%). This study was carried out to quantify concentrations of primary and secondary substances (nitrogen, water, total nonstructural carbohydrates, and sinigrin) of young and old leaves of Brassicaceae plant, Raphanus sativus L. and evaluate performance and survival of a generalist herbivore Spodoptera litura Fab. on them. Forty to fifty-day-old R. sativus plants were used in both foliar chemical analysis and insect performance bioassays. Leaves located on the third to the sixth node from the base of the plant were defined as old leaves and the remaining leaves (from seventh node to the plant apex) of the plant were referred as young leaves in this study.
