At the time of admission, she was hemodynamically stable. The cardiac auscultation highlighted an apexian systolic murmur (grade 3/6) and as well as a systolic murmur (grade 2/6) under the scapula. The echocardiography revealed a progressive narrowing of the lumen in the proximal descending aorta. Chest radiography outlined rib notches at the level of rib arches 3–9 and a pathognomonic image of “3” secondary to preand post-stenotic dilations. The computed tomography scan identified progressive narrowing of the lumen with a minimum caliber of 1.7 mm at the insertion site of the ligamentum arteriosum in the proximal descending aorta and significant collateral circulation.

Cytotoxicity tests, using plant test systems in vivo, such as Allium cepa, are validated by the similar results performed in animal testing in vitro. Cytogenetic tests are usefulness for identifying and evaluating the damaging effects of pesticides present in various concentrations under different exposure times on living organisms. Mutagenic potential of different pesticides used can be detected cytologically by cellular inhibition (mitotic index and replication index are used as indicators of adequate cell proliferation), disruption in metaphase, induction of chromosomal aberrations, numerical and structural, ranging from chromosomal fragmentation to the disorganization of the mitotic spindle, and consequently of all subsequent dependent

This study of the infrared radiation started from an analysis regarding heating of from passenger compartment for electric cars which is insufficient on the cold periods. So, IR heating could be a solution in this case, and an alternatively or additionally system for cars with internal combustion engines. In addition, the heat generated by infrared heating surfaces is distributed without any need for drafts of air and is completely silent. Also each passenger can be provided with his own individual heating system, it is also possible to selectively heat only those seats that are occupied and thus reduce energy consumption. This paper presents technical information about infrared radiation, different characteristics of infrared heat sources used, as well advantages and disadvantages of this solution.

This model takes from the SERVQUAL method the five dimensions of requirements and three of characteristics and from the QFD method the application methodology. The originality of the SQ model consists in computing a global index that reflects the customers' requirements accomplishment level by the quality characteristics. In order to prove the viability of the SQ model, there was developed a software tool that was applied for the evaluation of a health care services provider.

The embedded boundary method aims at allowing the simulation of complex geometry flows on Cartesian computational grids, increasing the numerical accuracy of the method, while maintaining acceptable computational requirements and ease of implementation. The novelty of the present implementation consists in a new method for determining the interpolation points required for computing the state vector at the location required for a correct embedded boundary condition application. The paper also includes method validation results for two flow cases: a laminar Poiseuille flow and laminar and turbulent flows past circular cylinders. The simulation results are in good agreement with the analytical solution (where available) and with experimental measurements in the literature.

Microarray-based comparative genomic hybridization analysis of Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome in a fetus with deletion of 4p15.3 to 4pter

Clinical manifestations of WHS include intrauterine growth restriction, failure to thrive in the neonatal period that is present simultaneously with hypotonia, typical "Greek helmet" facial appearance, cleft lip and palate, mental deficiency, and seizures. We present a case of WHS with prenatal conventional cytogenetics of 46,XY,der(4)t(4;13)(p15.3;p11.2)pat. High-resolution mapping using microarray-based comparative genomic hybridization (array-CGH), including Affymetrix 10K arrays and cDNA microarrays, confirmed the loss of genes in the deleted region. The correlation between these candidate genes and the phenotypes of WHS may expand our understanding of the defective development caused by 4p deletion.
