Because of no epitaph has been unearthed, the identity of the owner of Shoroon Bumbagar has been difficult to determine. The latest test results of the remains in the tomb show that the remains originally thought to be the tomb owner were actually sheep bones, and the tomb owner was not buried in the tomb. The author believes that the owner of Shoroon Bumbagar may have imitated the Turkic aristocrats and buried the body separately in the same way as the burial customs of the Turkic aristocrats. Finally, through the analysis of handed down documents and archaeological materials, it can be seen that the owner of Shoroon Bumbagar is most likely a Tiele elite, the first Jinwei governor (金微都督), named Pugu Gelanbayan(仆固歌滥拔延), the grandfather of the owner of Shoroon Dov, Pugu Yitu (仆固乙突).

Although most gangs committing robberies along the Silk Road comprised around ten or so people, some comprised thousands of members. The scale of some robber gangs was so great that the situation placed heavy demands on the warning and defense systems used by caravans on the Silk Road. Moreover, solely relying on the caravans themselves to prevent robberies was insufficient and the countries which traded along the Silk Road were called upon to utilize their military strength to safeguard the security of the Silk Road.
