This paper studies the connection between the behavior of school children, whose relationships with their given social environment can take various forms, and certain spatial characteristics of elementary schools. The results indicate that there is a need to achieve a balanced relationship between a strictly defined and an open form of the physical environment in order to create conditions in which school children will express their current orientation and attitude toward their immediate social environment through their behavior in that particular physical environment. This includes the organization of a dynamic and shifting environment, spatial planning which needs to enable a greater degree of privacy in certain zones and the organization of spatial f...

Today, powder paints are the most common in the production processes of protection of aluminum and other similar materials. As powder films are solid particles, they do not contain harmful organic solvents, and have been shown to be an excellent method when it comes to reducing harmful solvents in paints and varnishes. Prague films show excellent protection against corrosion, wear and mechanical damage. In this paper, the basic properties of powder paints, testing of decorative protective films formed from powder paints are checked. The examination of powder paints included: dry matter content, amount of application, dry film thickness. Examination of the decorative protective film was tested for adhesion.

As a business with a long history, the textile industry undergoes radical transformations at a global level. With the emergence of new competitors, global business conditions have changed significantly. Nevertheless, European manufacturers have remained world leaders in the production of industrial textiles and fashion clothing. Many European manufacturers resort to subcontracting or relocating capacity for labour-intensive activities in countries with lower labour costs, such as Serbia, in order to maintain competitiveness. The greatest success of the domestic textile industry was recorded in the late 1980s when it was a significant source of employment, the creation of added value and more balanced regional development. Although it is still not at the level of the 1980s, positive developments in the domestic textile industry appeared in 2016 in the direction of growth in production, employment and exports. The state seeks to accelerate the development of the textile industry through the subsidisation of foreign and domestic investors. However, growth that is primarily based on foreign direct investment is a long-term unsustainable concept. In order for growth to be sustainable, it is necessary to encourage the development of activities that produce greater added value and increase competitiveness. That is the reason why it is necessary to support the development of domestic enterprises, as well as the arrival of those foreign investments that generate multiple levels of added value.

Antecedents and Appraisals of Triumph across Four Countries
Cross-Cultural Research, 2021

Participants in the U.S., Serbia, Russia, and Japan provided open-ended descriptions of previous antecedent events that elicited experiences of triumph, and completed a standard appraisal questionnaire about those events. Events that elicited pride were also included for comparison. The open-ended responses were coded using a framework that delineated theoretical characteristics of triumph based on previous research. Findings indicated cross-cultural similarities in the antecedents and appraisals of triumph-eliciting events. Cultural variations were also found, especially between Japan and the other cultural groups and with regard to self-evaluations, which suggested the role of culture in triggering and appraising emotion-eliciting events. These findings extended empirical evidence about these important components of triumph, further contributing to its possibility as a discret...

Dynamic behaviour of liquid droplets has many applications in process engineering, such as spray ... more Dynamic behaviour of liquid droplets has many applications in process engineering, such as spray painting, spray forming, chemical evaporators, coating in wood industry, PVC manufacturing. We will consider glycerine as the representative of the liquids with high viscosity. Unlike water, due to high viscosity, reducing of the diameter is rare and it occurs only with high Weber numbers. Šikalo and Kostić have given an equation for fitting the spreading diameter of a water droplet impacting on flat surfaces, using a rational function. For glycerine, the function for fitting of the data will have two analytical expressionsthe rational function and the constant function. Data for the impact of glycerine droplets, with diameter of 2.45 mm, and the Weber numbers 51, 93, 163, 280, 402, 571, 802, 1056 are fitted to the rational and constant functions. We will apply for the coefficient of the rational function the properties of the glycerine droplets and the experimental maximum. The experimental maximum corresponds to a stationary point of rational functions. The constant functions are the experimental maximum and that is due to the high viscosity of glycerine. Numerical experiments indicate good agreement between the experimental data and proposed function.

It generalizes and improves a method introduced in [7] which is based on rational Hermitean interpolation of the secular equation. Taking advantage of a further rational approximation of the secular equation which is essentially for free and which yields lower bounds of λ1 we obtain an improved stopping criterion.

Here, over 14,000 individuals from 45 countries were asked whether they embraced, stroked, kissed, or hugged their partner, friends, and youngest child during the week preceding the study. We then examined a range of hypothesized individual-level factors (sex, age, parasitic history, conservatism, religiosity, and preferred interpersonal distance) and cultural-level factors (regional temperature, parasite stress, regional conservatism, collectivism, and religiosity) in predicting these affective-touching behaviors. Our results indicate that affective touch was most prevalent in relationships with partners and children, and its diversity was relatively higher in warmer, less conservative, and religious countries, and among younger, female, and liberal people. This research allo...

The Mises method is considered a simple method because it is based on matrix multiplication. Special properties of the Toeplitz matrix enable us to multiply it with the symmetrical vector with only n 2 flops. However practical results are already not satisfactory in terms of number of steps and when matrices have small dimension n which is explained with linear convergence of the method.

Also, this change that space and form have undergone together should be considered based on the change and development in theory, discourse, technology, material, time etc. Depending on this development and change process, architectural form is also evident to change its expressions. The main goal of this research is to define the types of forms and their characteristics as well as the types of the possible spatial organizations in architectural design. The investigation includes analysis of the contemporary architecture. In this article are analyzed the examples from the practice with the aim of emphasising the significance of the conceptual design strategies used in architectural design.

The MinHash algorithm has proven effective for rapidly estimating the resemblance of two genomes ... more The MinHash algorithm has proven effective for rapidly estimating the resemblance of two genomes or metagenomes. However, this method cannot reliably estimate the containment of a genome within a metagenome. Here we describe an online algorithm capable of measuring the containment of genomes and proteomes within either assembled or unassembled sequencing read sets. We describe several use cases, including contamination screening and retrospective analysis of metagenomes for novel genome discovery. Using this tool, we provide containment estimates for every NCBI RefSeq genome within every SRA metagenome, and demonstrate the identification of a novel polyomavirus species from a public metagenome.

Free vibrations of fluid-solid structures are governed by a nonsymmetric eigenvalue problem. This problem can be transformed into a definite quadratic eigenvalue problem. Niendorf and Voss presented an algorithm which determents if quadratic pencil is or is not definite. In their algorithm, the initial vector is taken at random. In this paper we bring a new effective algorithm for determining the initial vector x0 and thus we accelerate algorithm of Niendorf and Voss. The new algorithm presented in this paper combines earlier results of Kostic and Sikalo with the new results obtained in this study.
