Ilyen kommunikációs eljárás a LoRaWAN-technológia is, amely Chirp moduláció segítségével képes csillag topológiájú hálózatokba szervezni szenzorainkat, akár viszonylag nagyobb területek lefedése mellett is. Kutatásomban a LoRaWAN-technológia katonai felhasználási lehetőségeit vizsgálom. Feltárom a technológia katonai szempontból előnyös tulajdonságait, valamint az alkalmazhatóság korlátait.

IT helpdesks are charged with the task of responding quickly to user queries. To give the user co... more IT helpdesks are charged with the task of responding quickly to user queries. To give the user confidence that their query matters, the helpdesk will auto-reply to the user with confirmation that their query has been received and logged. This auto-reply may include generic 'boiler-plate' text that addresses common problems of the day, with relevant information and links. The approach explored here is to tailor the content of the auto-reply to the user's problem, so as to increase the relevance of the information included. Problem classification is achieved by training a neural network on a suitable corpus of IT helpdesk email data. While this is no substitute for follow-up by helpdesk agents, the aim is that this system will provide a practical stopgap .

Enterprise documents uniquely facilitate organizational collaboration by representing business pr... more Enterprise documents uniquely facilitate organizational collaboration by representing business processes, rules and data in a visual format that can be communicated between collaborators. While IT-supported document collaboration is well established for structured recurring business processes, creative processes that emerge and evolve instantaneously lack an appropriate document collaboration model. Related documents comprise diverse interrelated parts that evolve through collaborative activities of varying participants in an ad hoc manner. As to this, we introduce a novel approach to represent these documents as mashups of services. Document mashups offer an interactive, intuitive and dynamic way to indicate the structure and behavior of document fragments that are provided by human collaborators or IT systems as services. In this paper we present a conceptual model of document service mashups as well as a document service infrastructure and collaboration platform architecture. Our model considers both the structural/layout composition of a document as well as its active behavior to support collaborative relationships. We represent the structural dependencies of document fragments and the collaborative flows of their providers as application-level rules that react to document events. Using our collaboration platform, collaborators declare document layout and interaction rules that are enforced as RESTful service interactions by the underlying document service infrastructure.

Understanding learning strategy as conversation

The goal of this research is to understand the learning strategies employed by students using so ... more The goal of this research is to understand the learning strategies employed by students using so called Intelligent Tutoring Systems (ITS), with the aim of supporting efforts to improve the effectiveness of this type of educational technology. An experiment is conducted in which we observe and record online interactions between the participant and the ITS, with the goal of discovering learning strategies used by students. Gordon Pask's Conversation Theory defines a social constructivist account of learning and teaching, and the hypothesis explored here is whether analysis of the observed data encoded using CT will help to identify behaviours that represent meaningful learning strategies. These strategies are identified with Markov Processes, enabling the use of Hidden Markov Models to discover clusters of distinct patterns of behaviour within the observational data.

The system is able to handle all stages of the service lifecycle-discovery, service selection and service execution. One unique feature of the system is its approach to protocol mediation, allowing a service requestor to dynamically modify the way it communicates with aprovider, based on a description of the provider's protocol. We present the architecture of the system, together with an overview of the key components (discovery and mediation) and the implementation.

An autonomous system is self-governing in that it is concerned with preserving its unique character, or unity. A narrative world can be viewed as a form of society in which characters follow a set of social n... more A narrative world can be viewed as a form of society in which characters follow a set of social norms whose collective function is to guide the characters through (the creation of) a story arc and reach some conclusion. By modelling the rules of a narrative using norms, we can govern the actions of agents that act out the characters in a story. Agents are given sets of permitted actions and obligations to fulfil based on their and the story’s current situation. However, a way to describe stories in terms of social norms is needed. Existing formalisms for narrative do not work at multiple layers of abstraction, and do not provide a rich enough vocabulary for describing stories. We use story tropes as a means of building reusable story components with which we describe the social norms that govern our storyworld agents.

In this work we present an overview of the creation, sharing and use of geotagged pictures. We propose an approach to providing a new browsing experience of photo collections based on location and heading information metadata.

Our work explores the kinds of metadata that can be captured at the time a photo is taken, and ways to share these metadata in order to build a browsing experience of distributed photo collections based on their spatial information and relations. We present a prototype system in which an RDF description of pictures, location and compass heading information is used so that users’ photo collections are enhanced by relations with other user’s pictures. A browsing interface that allows users to move and explore pictures according to the spatial relationships discovered is proposed.

Among the huge number of possible applications that may link and discover geotagged resources, we present a prototype system in which an RDF description of pictures, including location and compass heading information, is used to discover geo-related pictures of a same city taken from different users. We propose a browsing interface, based on different levels of relationship between pictures metadata, that allows users to explore cities according to the relations discovered.
