Several studies reflected HIV is associated to many factors, Literacy and Socio-economic conditions being at the highest rank. Members of Nepal army are generally with less educational background and few with higher educational status are at higher post. Thus knowledge regarding HIV/AIDS among this group need to be assessed. Aims: The overall objective of our study was to assess knowledge regarding HIV/AIDS among Nepal army in Banke district. Methods: A Cross-sectional descriptive study with population size of 146 Army was performed which covered the entire population of Shree Shreemehar Army Camp in Banke, starting from 18th June to 27th August, 2018. A pre-tested questionnaire containing structural, semi-structural and open ended questions were...

Methods: 50 adult partially edentulous patient seeking for replacement of missing teeth having Kennedy class I and II arches with or without modification areas were selected for the study. Group-A was treated with cast partial denture and Group-B with acrylic partial denture. Data collected during follow-up visit of 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year by evaluating retention, stability, masticatory efficiency, comfort, periodontal health of abutment. Results: Chi-square test was applied to find out differences between the groups at 95% confidence interval where p = 0.05. One year comparison shows that cast partial denture maintained retention and stability better than acrylic partial denture (p< 0.05). The masticatory efficiency was significantly compromising from 3rd month to 1 year in all ac...

That's why Family planning is a strong matter of concern for most of the developing countries like Nepal. The first family planning service in Nepal was provided by Family Planning Association Nepal (FPAN) in 1959 to provide an Integrated Package of Essential Services (IPES) that includes comprehensive counseling; family planning and sexual health services; safe abortion services; HIV and AIDS and other sexually-transmitted infection (STI) services; gynecological, prenatal, and post-natal care; and GBV care. Several studies reflect that increment in population is directly related to the level of education, low family income, and lack of awareness, strong cultural beliefs and many more. Especially, village areas of Nepal are deprived of Family Planning services and measures due to lack of coverage and other facilities. Thus knowledge regarding Family planning and contraception needs to be acce...

Despite serious medico legal, ethical and political ramifications, there is paucity of published article on the subject, especially from Nepal. Objective: We aimed to explore the patterns of substance abuse among a sample of Medical students from Nepalgunj Medical College. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional survey of medical students from Nepalgunj Medical College was done using a brief questionnaire schedule to identify current and lifetime use of tobacco, alcohol, cannabis and abuse of other drugs. An operational definition of substance abuse was made, 28 % of students fell within that criterion. Results: Male substance abusers 81% exceeded female abusers 19%. Substances most commonly abused were alcohol 60%, minor tranquilizers 48%, and tobacco 35%, and only 11% abused cannabis. While most students were multidrug users, there was a low frequency of daily ...

The first case was identified in July 1988 and later became epidemic and then concentrated epidemic among risk group for HIV. Materials and Methods: Heart rate variability of 20 patients with type 2 diabetes was assessed. Resting electrocardiogram for the heart rate variability analysis at spontaneous respiration was recorded for 5 min in the supine position before and after 6 months of supervised aerobic training given three times per week. Results: In time domain measures, the square root of the mean of the sum of the squares of differences between adjacent R-R intervals (RMSSD; 29.7 [26-34.5] vs 46.4 [29.8-52.2] ms, P = 0.023) and the percentage of consecutive RR intervals that differ by more than 50 ms (pNN50; 10.7 [5.5-12.7] vs 26.1 [6.6-37.2]%, P = 0.025] were significantly increased after exercise. In frequency domain measures, low frequency (62.4 [59.1-79.2] vs 37 [31.3-43.3] nu, P = 0.003) and low frequency/high frequency (1.67 [1.44-3.8] vs 0.58 [0.46-0.59]%, P = 0.009) were significantly decreased, whereas high frequency (95 [67-149] vs 229 [98-427] ms 2 , P = 0.006) and high frequency (37.6 [20.8-40.9] vs 63 [56.7-68.7] normalized units, P = 0.003) were significantly increased after exercise. In a Poincar e plot, standard deviation perpendicular to the line of the Poincar e plot (SD1; 21.3 [18.5-24.8]-33.1 [21.5-37.2] ms, P = 0.027) was significantly increased after exercise. Conclusions: These data suggest that three times per week moderate intensity aerobic exercise for 6 months improves cardiac rhythm regulation as measured by heart rate variability in type 2 diabetic patients.

Image classification on these planetary images can be very challenging due to differences in hue, quality, illumination, and clarity when compared to images captured on Earth. In this work, we try to bridge this gap by developing a deep learning network, MRSCAtt (Mars Rover Spatial and Channel Attention), which jointly uses spatial and channel attention to accurately classify images. We use images taken by NASA's Curiosity rover on Mars as a dataset to show the superiority of our approach by achieving state-of-the-art results with 81.53% test set accuracy on the MSL Surface Dataset, outperforming other methods. To necessitate the use of spatial and channel attention, we perform an ablation study to show the effectiveness of each of the components. We further show robustness of our approach by validating with images taken aboard NASA's recently-landed Perseverance rover.

Out of various factors involved in the epigenetic programming of the host, miRNA (microRNA) and LncRNA (Long non-coding RNA) are new generationnon-coding molecules that influence a variety of cellular processes like immunity, cellular differentiation, and tumor development. During tumor development, temporal changes in miRNA/LncRNA rheostat influence sterile inflammatory responses accompanied by the changes in the carcinogenic signalling in the host. At the cellular level, this is manifested by the up-regulation of Inflammasome and inflammatory pathways, which promotes cancer-related inflammation. In view of this, we discuss the potential of lncRNA and miRNA directed interv...
