A single-group ex post facto prospective descriptive design questionnaire was created incorporating socio-demographic data, the Maslach Burnout Inventory and Penner’s Prosocial Personality Battery. The study involved 442 members of professional social workers’ associations in Spain, comprising 91.1 per cent women and 8.9 per cent men, with ages ranging from twenty-four to sixty-three years. The results showed that social responsibility is significantly lower and personal distress is higher in emotional exhaustion and depersonalisation, whilst the personal accomplishment variable correlates positively with the positive variables of prosociality and negatively with personal distress. Social responsibility, perspective-taking, self-reported altruism, prosociality factor 1 (other-oriented empathy) and prosociality factor 2 (helpfulness) were...

We selected a sample of 33 children between 3 and 14 years old (21 male and 12 female) with risk scores in aggressive behaviour and another similar group with low scores in this variable. After administering both instruments to the parents, we carried out a binomial logistic regression analysis which resulted in a prediction model for the 87.9% of the sample, made up of the parenting variables: the variance revealed significant differences in the support and communication perceived by the fathers and mothers of both groups. Lastly, the utility of results to propose intervention strategies within the family based on fathers involvement and an author...

For this, we have carried out an analysis of the main works that show this relationship in the population, and then, we did the same including disability as a differentiating factor. In this sense, the authoritative style and specific parenting practices such as setting limits, communication, autonomy or monitoring are described as good predictors of adaptive behavior in children. However, we miss studies to confirm this relationship in children with disabilities. In this population, most of the papers refer, on the one hand, to expectations and, on the other hand, the stress in parenting and its effect on the ...

The intervention took place with 25 children in a third-grade classroom of a public primary school in Andalusia (Spain). A multiple baseline design was used across two conditions: A condition 1 and condition 2. Results are found to be satisfactory because the frequency of disruptive behavior decreased and the good behavior was generalized to another similar context. This study serves to expand upon current research on the GBG, replicating the procedure with the Say not-not Do-Request not (Sn-nD-Rn) Correspondence training and offering data on generalization.

The paper also assesses the test’s internal consistency reliability and validity with respect to the original IAT, to three other Internet addiction tests and to a clinical symptomatology test (CORE-OM: Clinical Outcomes in Routine Evaluation-Outcome Measure). A total sample comprising 1886 Spanish non-compulsory education students (average age: 21.04 years; SD = 4.72) was randomly divided into two halves. The first half (n = 932) was subjected to the IAT exploratory factorial analysis (EFA). In the second half, a confirmatory factorial analysis (CFA) was performed with 954 surveys. A subgroup of 209 randomly selected participants were given three independent internet addiction tests in addition to the IAT. Following the EFA and CFA, a new version of the test called IAT-12 was designed, wi...

Using an ex-post facto single-group design (Montero & Leon, 2007), we applied a questionnaire especially designed to gather socio-demographic information on substance use and behavioural patterns related to "non-substance" addictions, which included the Shopping Addiction Test, Echeburua's Internet Addiction Test (2003) and Fernandez-Montalvo and Echeburua's Short Pathological Gambling Questionnaire (1997). A total of 1,011 students participated in the study (42.7% males and 57.3% females), with an age range of 18 to 29. Sign...
