In this paper, we introduce a quantile-based non-additive entropy measure, based on Tsallis entropy and study their properties. Some relationships of this measure with well-known reliability mea- sures and ageing classes are studied and some characterization results are presented. Also the concept of quantile-based shift independent entropy measures has been introduced and studied various properties.

Lower and upper bounds of the proposed measures are derived. Some of the quantile lifetime distributions have been characterized. We also introduce quantile versions of the generalized divergence measure of Varma between two residual and two past lifetime random variables. Some properties of this measure are studied and a characterization of the proportional (reversed) hazards model is given.

Fecal samples from ALA patients, from healthy E. histolytica negative and positive (asymptomatic) individuals, and from pre-and post-metronidazole-treated healthy volunteers and pus samples from ALA patients were tested for the presence of various bacterial genera using 16S rRNA-based primers. Statistically significant reduction in Lactobacillus due to E. histolytica infection was observed in asymptomatic individuals and ALA patients. On the other hand, reduction in Bacteroides, Bifidobacterium, and Clostridium in the same samples was due to metronidazole treatment. Two anaerobic genera, viz. Bacteroides and Peptostreptococcus, were detected in ALA pus samples, and this observation is unprecedented. In addition, PCR revealed metronidazole resistance genes in fecal and pus samples of metronidazole-treated individuals. Re-examination of the ameba-bacterium relationship in amebiasis is suggested.

However, these antibodies are produced as an immune response to some unknown environmental antigens such as pollen grains and other parts of bacterial membranes. [1] The commonly mentioned naturally occurring antibodies belong to the ABO, Hh, Ii, Lewis, MN, P blood group systems. Anti-Kidd antibodies are notorious for confounding features and as a causal for delayed hemolytic transfusion reactions. Even strong Anti-Kidd antibodies may become undetectable after few weeks or months of immune stimulus and are frequently known to show dosage effect. Anti-Kidd antibodies are often diffi cult to detect and usually are commonly found in combination with other antibodies refl ecting the low immunogenicity of the Kidd antigen. [2] There are numerous reports of these antibodies. Anti Jk b is rarer than anti Jk a and there are only two reported cases of naturally occurring anti-Kidd antibodies in the literature. [3,4] The present case confi rms the possibility of naturally occurring anti-Kidd antibodies.

Having differentiated lithofacies constitution and here grouped as facies associations, these units are intensively burrowed and sparingly fossiliferous. Ichnogenera including Arenicolites, Calycraterion, Fucusopsis, Laevicyclus, Macanopsis, Ophiomorpha, Paleomeandron, Rhizocorallium, Stipsellus, Thalassinoides and Zoophycos are recovered from the Lower Limestone, Mottled Nodular Beds and Upper Limestone associations of the Lameta Formation of Jabalpur area. Among these, Arenicolites, Calycraterion, Laevicyclus, Ophiomorpha, Rhizocorallium, Stipsellus and Thalassinoides belong to mixed Skolithos and Cruziana ichnofacies and indicate sandy backshore to sublittoral condition of deposition. Additionally rhyzocretes, some times chertified, are also present in different parts of the Lameta Formation. Ichnofacies assemblage supported by sedimentological information suggests that the Lameta Formation of Jabalpur area was deposited in coastal marine settings where sediments were subaerially exposed intermittently.

This study attempts to find optimal branching factors for a k-d-B tree subject to partial match queries which specify the same number of attributes. The suggested method is supported by experimental results. 1. INTRODUCTION A variety of methods have been proposed for multiattribute file organization. Rothnie and Lozanolll proposed a file organization based on multikey hashing. Rivest[2] presented a method for storing records characterised by N keys. The multiple attribute tree[3] was formulated as a storage structure for multiple attribute data. The multidimensional directory for storing multiattribute records was investigated by Liou and Yao[4]. Bentley[5] has used a modification of the binary treenamely, the k-d binary tree, as a multidimensional storage structure. More recently, the k-d-B tree[6, 71 has been investigated as a storage structure for use in a multidimensional dynamic database. The k-d-B tree[6, 71 is an efficient multidimensional storage structure for a dynamic database. This paper attempts to find out optima1 branching factors for a k-d-B tree subject to partial match queries which specify the same number of attributes. The suggested method is supported by experimental results. 2. DEFINITIONS ANDTERMINOLOGY 2.1 B tree A B tree of order M and height h[8, 91 is defined as a tree in which the following hold: (i) Every node has at most M sons. (ii) Every node, except the root and leaves, has at least M/2 sons. (iii) The root has at least two sons unless it is a leaf. (iv) All leaves appear on the same level. (vl A non-leaf node with M sons contains (M-1) keyvalues. (vi) The number of levels in the tree is the height h. 2.2 k-d-B tree The k-d-B tree of order M is a B tree of order M in which different attributes may be used as discriminants to partition the data values at different levels.

Sodium zirconium phosphate and calcium zirconium phosphate, two potential radioactive wasteforms,... more Sodium zirconium phosphate and calcium zirconium phosphate, two potential radioactive wasteforms, were treated with fluoride, and different methods of sintering were evaluated. Different compositions were prepared by adding calcium fluoride to sodium zirconium phosphate and sodium fluoride to calcium zirconium phosphate. These mixtures were calcined in a microwave furnace and then sintered. The increase in densification of the samples sintered in a hot isostatic press were observed to be nearly uniform, while other samples that were sintered in a microwave and in a resistance furnace were inhomogeneous. The concentration of inhomogeneities was higher in fluorinated samples prepared under closed conditions in a hot press than samples prepared under microwave conditions in air.

Lithofacies supported granulometric analysis of the Middle Siwalik Subgroup of Mohand area, North-Western Himalaya, India: A palaeoenvironmental application
A detailed grain size analysis of 27 samples of sandstones supported by lithofacies of the 400 m ... more A detailed grain size analysis of 27 samples of sandstones supported by lithofacies of the 400 m thick Middle Siwalik Subgroup, north-western Himalaya, India, was done to understand the dynamics of sedimentation. Lithofacies supports sedimentation in a wide foreland basin setting by migrating river channels flowing along the SW palaeoslopes and carrying sediment loads from the Himalaya. Though, some of the rivers seem to have deposited calcrete conglomerates reworking preexisting foreland basin sediments. The increased sandstone body thickness and grain size in the upper levels of the succession imply sedimentation under progressively humid climatic conditions coupled with enhanced tectonics at the source. Grain size analysis shows that most of the sandstone samples are in the size range of fine-grained sandstones, and only a few are in medium and very fine grained categories. In general, sediments are moderately well sorted, positively to negatively skewed and mainly leptokurtic to...

X-ray diffraction analysis was carried out to confirm the coexistence of individual phases. Microstructural study was done by using scanning electron microscope. Dielectric constant and loss were studied as a function of temperature and frequency. To study ferroelectric and magnetic properties of the composite samples, corresponding P-E and M-H hysteresis loops were recorded. Change in magnetic properties of electrically poled composite sample (x=0.02) was studied to confirm the magnetoelectric (ME) coupling. ME coefficient (dE/dH) of the samples (x=0 and 0.02) was measured as a function of DC magnetic field.
