Curriculum Development for E-Learning: A Conceptual Framework

The conducted he conducted research is �ased on two dialecticall�� intertwined pillars. The theoretical pillar consists of the rich critical �ased on two dialecticall�� intertwined pillars. The theoretical pillar consists of the rich critical rich critical tradition of inquir�� into the relationships �etween technologies and human �eings in wide social conte�ts the relationships �etween technologies and human �eings in wide social conte�ts from Frankfurt School onwards. The practical pillar consists of Dahl�erg's main strands of Internet research-Uses Determination, Technological Determination and Social Determination (2004). Blending the theoretical and the practical pillar, it is shown that the discipline of e-learning consists of Ha�ermas's three main spheres of human interests, t��pes of knowledge and research methods-the technical, the t��pes of knowledge and research methods-the technical, the-the technical, the the technical, the practical, and the emancipator�� (Tinning, 1992). The conducted research does not include e�plorations research does not include e�plorations of epistemological �asis for com�ining various theoretical frameworks and research methodologies. For this reason, its results cannot �e applied to scientific research without further ela�oration. In order to e�pose students and practitioners to the true structure of the discipline of e-learning, however, results of this research can �e confidentl�� applied in practical fields from curriculum development to polic�� making.

In 2004, Siân and colleagues launched the world renowned MSc in E-Learning, now the MSc in Digital Education. Siân's background includes English literature, digitization, museum heritage, and open education. Her current research interests revolve around the changes undergoing learning and teaching as it shifts online-current particular interests are around posthumanism and online education, the geographies of distance education, and critical digital pedagogies. Her research is informed by approaches issuing from critical posthumanism, and is particularly concerned with the need to work against the idea of digital education as a purely technical concern. Siân has published numerous journal articles, book chapters and project reports. It recognises that most contributions to the field are developed in diverse and often mutually incommensurable research traditions from education to engineering, and identifies dialogue across different conceptual frameworks as the main challenge in their interpretation. It explores the rise of disciplinarity, and exposes its dialectical relationships with education and class. Based on wide body of research developed by members of Frankfurt School of Social Science and their successors, it analyses the relationships between technologies, society and human beings and asserts that the rise of technoscience is dialectically intertwined with the rise of disciplinarity.
