Alccofine is added in steps in the 40% bottom ash concrete to revive the properties of bottom ash concrete. A proportion of 5 to 20% has been added as an alternative to cement. Results showed that the replacement of cement with Alccofine has improved the compressive strength of the concrete.

This allows a new turbine design to be scaled from an existing design of known performance. The specific speed is also the main criteria for matching a specific hydro site with the correct turbine type. The specific speed is the speed with which the turbine turns for a particular discharge Q, with unit head and thereby is able to produce unit power.

A Methodology to Emulate the Effect of EMI in Circuit Simulators for Wireline Communication Channel

The proposed simulation methodology incorporates the effect of EMI on the circuit during the design phase in EMI-sensitive applications. It allows simple and faster EMI simulations at the SPICE level which minimizes the post-fabrication failures. A TEM (transverse electromagnetic) cell is used to emulate the effect of EMI on the test circuit as provided in the standard IEC-62132. An analytical model is presented to quantify the effect of induced voltage and current on a transmission line placed in the TEM cell. The developed model is experimentally verified for a frequency range of 1 MHz to 1 GHz. As an experimental study, the proposed model is used to validate the effect of EMI on the wireline communication channel transmitting a pseudorandom binary sequence (PRBS) data generated from an FPGA board at 1 Gbps data rate for a wide range of EMI powers and frequencies.

An EMI-Immune PAM-4 Transmitter With Input Level Shifter in 130-nm BiCMOS Technology
IEEE Letters on Electromagnetic Compatibility Practice and Applications, 2021

The traditional PAM-4 transmitters are prone to failing in the presence of EMI, which is experimentally verified. The proposed PAM-4 shows superior performance over the traditional PAM-4 transmitter, in the presence of EMI, by using an Input Level Shifter (ILS). ILS minimises the effect of EMI on a PAM-4 signal by reducing the input common-mode level of the transmitter and renders it compatible with the previous logic state. The proposed PAM-4 transmitter is fabricated in 130-nm BiCMOS technology with a chip area of 580 <inline-formula> <tex-math notation="LaTeX">$\mu \text{m}\,\,\times $ </tex-math></inline-formula> 915 <inline-formula> <tex-math notation="LaTeX">$\mu \text{m}$ </tex-math></inline-formula>. EMI-immunity measurements are aligned with the IEC 62132-2 standard by using a transverse electromagnetic (TEM) cell for radiated EMI-immunity. In the presence of a wide range of EMIs, the proposed PAM-4 transmitter operates at a data rate of 6.5 Gbps and maintains the minimum required eye-opening of 70 mV as per the standard IEEE 802.2bs. The proposed EMI-immune transmitter can withstand EMI powers of 0–16 dBm in frequencies ranging from 1 MHz to 1.5 GHz.

So far, a multitude of such techniques have been proposed, but unfortunately due to their sparse availability, and the dependency on high-end computational literacy, their wider adaptation faces challenges, at least in the context of G-Protein Coupled Receptors (GPCRs)-associated chemosensory research. Here, we report Machine-OlF-Action (MOA), a user-friendly, open-source computational framework, that utilizes user-supplied SMILES (simplified molecular input line entry system) of the chemicals, along with their activation status, to synthesize classification models. MOA integrates a number of popular chemical databases collectively harboring approximately 103 million chemical moieties. MOA also facilitates customized screening of user-supplied chemical datasets. A key feature of ...

An EMI Immune PAM4 Transmitter in 130 nm BiCMOS Technology

The traditional PAM4 transmitter is investigated for the EMI effects. The proposed PAM4 transmitter uses a transimpedance amplifier (TIA) to isolate the effect of EMI on the PAM4 transmitter. TIA uses common mode feedback (CMFB), which minimises the variation caused in common mode voltage on the transmission line due to EMI injection. Simulation results show that the proposed PAM4 transmitter structure is able to maintain a minimum eye opening of 80 mV as per the standard IEEE802.3bs at a data rate of 12.5 Gbps. The proposed transmitter efficiently transmits the data in the presence of EMI with power of 5 mW and frequency ranging from 1 MHz to 1 GHz, whereas the traditional PAM4 transmitter exhibits complete loss of data in presence of EMI. This EMI immune PAM4 transmitter is designed in STMicroelectronics 130 nm BiCMOS technology.

A Novel CML Latch Based Wave Pipelined Asynchronous SerDes Transceiver for Low Power Application

This requirement of data transmission speed is achieved with the help of high-speed transceivers. In this paper, we present a high-speed asynchronous wave-pipelined serializer and deserializer (SerDes) transceiver implemented using current-mode logic (CML). This asynchronous transceiver circuit does not require a clock and therefore it saves large amount of power which is consumed in the phase locked loop (PLL) and frequency synthesizer circuits. Further, the proposed design is built using CML which saves more power. CML circuit operates at relatively higher speed as compared to CMOS circuits which helps the circuit to operate at higher data rate. Compared to conventional CML latch, a novel CML latch is proposed in our design to increase the speed. The circuit is implemented in standa...

In this paper, hourly yield, hourly exergy efficiency, and hourly overall thermal efficiency of active solar stills are evaluated for 0.05 m water depth. All numerical computations had been performed for a typical day in the month of 07 December 2005 for the climatic conditions of New Delhi (28835 0 N, 77812 0 E, 216 m above MSL). The thermal model of flat-plate collector integrated with active solar still was validated using the experimental test setup results. Total daily yield from active solar still integrated with evacuated tube collector with heat pipe is 4.24 kg m À2 day À1 , maximum among all other types of active solar stills.
