The precise cause is not well known yet. The aim of this study is to determine the incidence of PNF in our liver recipients, potential risk factors, and outcome. Patients and methods A total of 248 adult liver transplant recipients from 2014 till 2017 at our Transplant Unit were included after excluding nine patients for missing data. Of 248 patients, five (2%) had PNF; two of these patients have been excluded for the purpose of data analysis, as they had machine perfusion (One Liver Assist, and the other Organox). Of the non-PNF 243 recipients, 36 patients receiving livers from donors undergoing in-situ normothermic regional perfusion or ex-situ normothermic perfusion were not included, leaving 207 patients, so the total number was 210 patients. Donor and graft variables studied including age, BMI, serum sodium, cold ischemia time, warm ischemia time, opera...

The results showed that the green tea enriches with catechin and inulin counteracted improved the BWG and FER in diabetics' rat groups. It could be noticed that the significant results for BWG and FER were recorded for rats of group 8 which treated by a high dose of green tea enriched with catechin and inulin. Also, this treated group of rats had the lowest total cholesterol, triglycerides LDL cholesterol and serum VLDL cholesterol also. However, HDL cholesterol was the minimum in animals of this group. The Kidney and liver function in the diabetics' different rat groups fed on basal diet and taken orally 1.5ml/kg/ body weight/day of green tea enriched with catechin and inulin were improved. On the other hand, green tea, it was found that catechin and inulin decreased the serum glucose in the different diabetics rat groups and improved their atherogenic index (A.I) and cardiovascular disease risk (CVD risk). The observed improvement in diabetics' different rat groups taking the green tea and catechin may be due to the presence of natural antioxidant in catechin which scavenging the free radical in the blood. Also, inulin is used as dietary fiber in functional foods which loss the gain body weight. It could be recommended from the above results that orally taking 1.5ml/kg/ body weight/day from green tea enriched with catechin and inulin (extract from boiling 20 g of green tea leaves/liter of water with 0.5 mg catechin plus 18 g of inulin) improved diabetics' rats.

Hence, it is an on-going debate, if piggy-back implantation is more protective from acute kidney injury (AKI) after LT when compared to classic cava replacement technique. The aim of this study was therefore to assess the rate of AKI and other complications after LT comparing both transplant techniques without the use of veno-venous bypass. We retrospectively analyzed the adult DBD liver transplant cohort between 2008 - 2016 at our center. Liver and Kidney function, and general outcome including complications were assessed. Overall 378 transplantations were analyzed, of which 177 (46.8%) were performed as piggy-back and 201 (53.2%) as cava replacement technique. AKI occurred equally often in both groups. Transient renal replacement therapy was required in 22.6% and 22.4%...

Recently the fibrinogen/C-reactive protein (CRP) ratio has been suggested as a measurement that predicts onset of DIC. The authors sought to analyze the fibrinogen/CRP ratio among obstetric patients who developed DIC due to HELLP syndrome. Aim: the aim of this study is to determine if the fibrinogen/C-reactive protein (CRP) ratio could be used as a predictor for disseminated intravascular coagulation in obstetrics patients with the HELLP syndrome. Patients and Methods: this study was conducted as a prospective observational study at Ain Shams Maternity Hospital from November 2014 to November 2016 .The study included Patients diagnosed to have Severe Pre Eclamptic Toxemia SPET according to ACOG (2013).Patients was diagnosed with the HELLP syndrome according to the Martin classification of HELLP syndrome. Results: the results of our study suggest that replacing the use of fibrinogen levels alone with the fibrinogen/CRP ratio would enhance the diagnostic and prognostic power for DIC in patients with HELLP syndrome. Conclusion: in light of the physiologic changes of the coagulation cascade during gestation, the International Society on Thrombosis and Hemostasis ISTH score could not be implemented in pregnant women alone for the diagnosis and prediction of DIC. Recommendations: further evaluation of the fibrinogen/ CRP ratio is required to determine the generalizability of this marker's use in DIC because of causes such as placental abruption, septic abortion, and failed abortion. Furthermore, prospective studies should be performed to determine the best method to predict if there any new method to predict DIC in patients with the HEELP syndrome.

Electron Scattering on Centrosymmetric Molecular Dianions Pt(CN)42- and Pt(CN)62

The thresholds for production of neutral particles by electron bombardment were found to be 17.2 and 18.7 eV, respectively. The relatively high thresholds reflect the strong Coulomb repulsion in the incoming channel as well as a high energetic stability of the target electrons. A trianion resonance was identified with a positive energy of 17.0 eV for the Pt(CN)2-4 square-planar complex, while three trianion resonances were identified for the Pt(CN)2-6 octahedral complex with positive energies of 15.3, 18.1, and 20.1 eV.

Makrofol-E samples were irradiated by UV of wavelengths 254, 302, and 365 nm for different durations. It was found that Makrofol-E shows substantial modifications in its optical characteristics upon exposure to UV of wavelengths 302 and 254 nm, but no modifications were observed at 365 nm. In order to meet environmental requirements, CKD is disposed off in landfills. Recently, there has been a trend of utilizing it for soil stabilization, treatment of sewage, etc. Also, attempts were made at using it in cement products. Reuse of waste materials in composite materials to improve its properties or to minimize product cost is nowadays of great important. One of these composite materials is a cement concerts. An investigation to produce a cement concerts produced by mixing cement kiln dust with Ordinary Portland Cement was studied. The experimental results shows that a cement brick based on standard KSA specifications can be obtained by mixing 30% of CKD with cement and for safety considerations until 20%.
