Minimally invasive aortic valve replacement (MIAVR) has been recently adopted as a new approach. According to the literature, the superiority of MIAVR is controversial. In this study we report early post-operative outcomes in MIAVR compared with MFS access with reference to blood Loss, wound infections, post-operative recovery, morbidity and mortality. Methods this study was a prospective data collection from 36 consecutive patients undergoing isolated valve replacement. Two population study was identified, MIAVR group (group I n=18) and MFS group (group II n=18). Patients´ data were collected and analyzed using IBM SPSS statistics 21 software and Khi2 test has been used to compare the variables. The study variables are presented as numbers, percentage, median with interquartile range. Pre-operative planning was performed so that to obtain similar characteristics. Res...

The latter; whether in the global or the national context; are mainly due to diesel, whose climate impacts are well established, suggesting the search for a greener alternative. Despite its virtues, biodiesel is struggling to impose itself for purely economic reasons. Thus, in order to offer a sustainable solution, while keeping in mind the unpredictable fluctuations (price, demand. . .). This work proposes a generalization of fuzzy goal programming into fully fuzzy goal programming and a relative application, where the aim is to have a final product at a competitive price.
Aggregation of performance indicators for supply chain and fuzzy logic extensions applied to green supply chain

However, the multiplicity of indicators, quantitative ones or qualitative ones, pushes to merge them, to simplify diagnostic and facilitate comparisons. In this work, we propose a new aggregation operator, aiming to fix drawbacks of usual arithmetic means. An extension to fuzzy logic is given.
Enhancing MOOCs peer reviews validity and reliability by a fuzzy coherence measure

In doing so, they are confronted to new challenges, such as assessing a huge number of participants. A common idea lies on peer reviewing. However, students are not formed to assess others contributions. Hence, their evaluation are unreliable and may be biased. Since peer reviewing imposes itself in the actual MOOCs context, several approaches were considered to improve some aspects of its outcome. Here we proposed a fuzzy based approach that aims enhancing validity and reliability.

Materials and Methods: We have conducted a descriptive cross-sectional study based on an anonymous questionnaire. Results: A total of 406/672 questionnaires were returned, with a female/male sex ratio of 1.07. The duration of the training (OR: 3.3; CI 95%: 1.74-6.23; p < 0.001), intellectual challenge (OR: 3.02; CI 95%: 1.69-5.37; p < 0.001), doctor-patient relationship (OR: 2.22; CI 95%: 1.02-4.84; p: 0.04), and financial aspects (OR: 2.14; CI 95%: 1.09-4.21; p: 0.02) were independent factors that influenced the choice of anesthesiology. Conclusion: we recommend the succeeding: 1) Support students in their choice; 2) Correct misconceptions about certain specialties; 3) Promote clinical clerkship; 4) Encourage mentorship; 5) Increase the salary of at-risk specialties.

Optimality is achieved by minimizing the sum of weighed incoherencies between individual opinions and the consensus. When the experts’ opinions are not equally important, the method is adapted to the heterogeneous situation. In order to promote coherence or hierarchical weights, a parametrization is proposed.

New Multi-criteria Decision-Making Based on Fuzzy Similarity, Distance and Ranking
We propose a new method for group decision making by using trapezoidal fuzzy numbers to describe ... more We propose a new method for group decision making by using trapezoidal fuzzy numbers to describe decisions. A team of decision makers (or experts) must choose the most appropriate alternative using fuzzy logic. Each expert will give his opinion about every alternative in accordance with the criteria of choice by a fuzzy number. The decisions taken are aggregated respecting the similarity and dissimilarity (distance) between each pair of opinions, in addition to the hierarchical weights (importance) of each decision-maker (DM). The result is a fuzzy number representing the general appreciation of each alternative. In order to able to choose one, an appropriate ranking method is proposed. In this article we treat four issues, namely, similarity and distance between opinions represented by fuzzy numbers, aggregation of opinions while preserving similarity and in accordance with the hierarchical weight, and finally ranking fuzzy numbers.

Most of the reported cases are not a known complication of aortic coarctation repair. Otherwise intra-operative aneurysm ruptures are rare cases but a potentially fatal complication in open heart surgery. Case report: In this article, we report the case of a 23-year-old patient with a giant ascending and arch aneurysm associated with a Standford type A chronic aortic dissection. In the patient’s history a coarctation repair at age of five years old was noted. During an open heart surgery for ascending aorta and hemi-arch replacement under cardiopulmonary bypass, aneurysm rupture occurred before aortic cross-clamp. A successful intraoperative and post-operative management was performed. The course was uneventful. The patient was extubated without neurological damage. Moreover, there were no kidney function deterioration, no digestive and limbs ischemia. Conclusion: Intra-operative aneurysm rupture is rare but is a major operativ...

Generalization of the weighted product aggregation applied to data fusion of intuitionistic fuzzy quantities

We restrict ourselves here to the unity interval, and propose an extension of the weighted product mean that avoid the nullity of the output when having only one dimension equals zero. The aggregation proposed is extended to intuitionistic fuzzy quantities.

Peer Assessment Improvement Using Fuzzy Logic
Innovations in Smart Cities Applications Edition 2, 2019
Peer assessment, consists of a prearrangement between learners to consider and specify the level,... more Peer assessment, consists of a prearrangement between learners to consider and specify the level, value, or quality of a product or performance or other equal-status learners. The practice imposes itself when trying to evaluate a large number of students, teachers are practically obliged to use peer assessment, especially in Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). However, the novice students, unlike their teachers, are not formed to assess others contributions. Therefore, their evaluations are unreliable and may be biased. Here we try to improve the peer assessment outcome, using fuzzy logic to model opinions, those opinions are weighed according to their validity, then aggregated in order to achieve consensus, hence reliable evaluation.
