We obtained secondary data from the annual reports of the Global Innovation Index (GII), Summary Innovation Index (SII), and Digital Economy and Society Index (DESI) for the years 2017 to 2021. Using structural equation modeling, the main concept was to develop a new variable, Innovation Performance (IP), which was created by combining the indices of the GII and SII dimensions within a new three-factor model. The modelling findings revealed that both indexes had a statistically significant impact on the variations in the IP value, with the SII exerting a greater influence compared to the GII. The IP variable in the modified model has a significant positive impact on the change in the score of the DESI. We found a positive impact for 10 dimensions (from 19) and a negative impact for firm investments. The highest positive impact was confirmed for research systems, information technologies, and human resources. Our findings also highlight real economic contexts and drivers for EU countries' strategies and policies in the progress of digital competitiveness. The main idea is to design innovation performance by combining GII and SII in a new model to reveal the impact of innovation performance on changes in digital competitiveness. The dimensions with the most significant impact represent the key drivers of digital and innovation performance in real economic practice.

On the one hand is propaganda, which often uses manipulative and one-sided information to influence public opinion or convince people of a particular perspective. On the other side is the credibility of information, which refers to the truthfulness, accuracy and objectivity of the data transmitted. This article describes and evaluates the main disinformation actions in recent years in Slovak and the Czech Republic. Information manipulation campaigns are multifaceted, and many factors are at play simultaneously. As topical causes with a wide range of consequences, these campaigns are also political and highly politicized. The analytical part of the paper is based on the research that was conducted, which involved 964 respondents from the Slovak and Czech Republic, mainly university students. The research was conducted based on the authors' research instrument. Within the research itself, we surveyed the answers and opinions of respondents as a way of assessing the relevance of information separately for respondents from the Slovak Republic and individually from the Czech Republic according to the age of the respondent in terms of the respondent's assessment of the truthfulness of the information or the importance of the credibility of the information.

More and more in the scope of professional discussions, we come across the definition and specification of circumstances in which the significant signs of hybrid threats are discussed and the threat they pose to society are pointed out. The study reflects the need to know and specify the understanding of "hybrid threats". It presents the results of a survey that was conducted to determine how students of two universities in the Slovak Republic (the Police Force Academy in Bratislava and the Faculty of Management, Economics and Business of the University of Prešov in Prešov) perceive and whether they even know the term "hybrid threats" itself. A significant moment in the orientation of young people to security aspects is knowledge of the definition of this term among young students who are preparing for a profession and who will form the future of the international community. Therefore, only a precise specification of the concept and a definition of the distinct elements for building effective resistance to hybrid threats at the national and international level, specifically in individual countries, will help us maintain a sense of security among individual members of society. The content of the study is constructed to fulfil the primary goal, which is to determine and present the perception of the concept of "hybrid threats" among university students, as well as to present elementary concepts associated with the issue of hybrid threats and a selected element supporting resistance to hybrid threats at the national levelstrategic communication. The proposed findings are based on quantitative and qualitative research conducted within the national project "Increasing Slovakia's resilience to hybrid threats by strengthening public administration capacities" and reflect on the current needs of the security environment at both the national and international levels. The research was conducted between May and September 2023 to obtain quantitative and qualitative indicators.

Quantification and understanding of the nature of bearing capacity in fine-grained soils is one of the basic senses of a geotechnical survey. We can know the orientation suitability of the site for the foundation. This is possible based on the knowledge of the approximate bearing capacity of field surveys. We can also assume certain complications due to demanding building foundations. Approximate estimate of the percentage of each type classes of fine-grained soil is another reason to the knowledge an indicative bearing capacity. It interests us because of its suitability or unsuitability of view the most important characteristics of foundations represented by the bearing capacity.

Cataphoresis varnishing is known to ensure a high adhesion of the created cataphoresis layer and a good homogeneity of this layer, even on surfaces with complex geometry. This paper aimed to optimize the deposition process and to analyze and evaluate the thickness of a cataphoresis layer formed on an aluminum substrate from AW 1050—H24 material. In total, 30 separate samples were created in accordance with the Design of Experiments methodology, using a central composite plan. The independent input factors in the study were: the electrical voltage (U) and deposition time in the cataphoresis varnishing process (tKTL) at the polymerization times of 15 min, 20 min, and 25 min, respectively. The results of the statistical analysis showed that the voltage accounted for 33.82% of the change in the thickness of the created layer and the deposition tim...

Precisely cross-border mergers and acquisitions represent a key strategic and dynamic tool for gaining long-term competitive advantage, diversification, geographical expansion or strengthening its own position in the global market. The main goal of the paper is to analyze the impact of the predictors we have chosen on the volume and frequency of realized cross-border mergers and acquisitions in the manufacturing sector with regard to the origin of the source (19) and target (28) countries in the European area in the time period of 1998 and 2021 through analysis of variance (ANOVA). Through partial analyses, we find out how the manufacturing sector affects the total value of cross-border mergers and acquisitions transactions and whether there is a significant difference in the total value of cross-border mergers and acquisitions within the branches of the manufacturing sector. Attention is also paid to the impact of source and target country membership in the EU on the overall value of cross-border mergers and acquisitions. In the analyses, we also identify other significant influences that have an impact on the conditional value of cross-border mergers and acquisitions.

Compared to the traditional user interfaces, VR places the user inside an experience. This research aimed to implement and examine modern learning strategies and activities with the VR for teaching crime scene investigation. The target group of this piloting study consisted of all students who enrolled in a crime scene investigation course at Al-Istiqlal University during the Spring semester of 2021. An online item-based questionnaire has been developed. It is used to assess students' perceptions towards using cooperative, discussion, field trip and problem-solving learning strategies and activities implemented with the VR technology. This study showed that VR is a helpful tool to practice modern learning strategies and skills in learning forensic science and crime scene investigation. We can conclude that using VR technology for educational purposes supports the learning process.

Significance of selected AWJ factors-independent variables (traverse rate, pressure) that influence the acoustic sound pressure level was evaluated by analysis of variance. Further, the manufacturing system with AWJ machining and the cutting process was evaluated. The regression equation obtained from analyses of variance gives the level of acoustic sound pressure significance L aeq as a function of the treatment factors. Different factor significance has been found, that was generated under defined conditions by AWJ. Results show the AWJ machining factors significance and their effect to noise environment at AWJ machining of stainless steel.

It also compares the relationship between individual inputs factors and their mutual interactions on the AAO thickness at monitored current density of 1.00 A·dm-2 and 6.00 A·dm-2. The developed predicted model describes the influence of input factors on the final AAO thickness by cubic function and its reliability is 99.37 % at current density of 1 A·dm-2 and 99.47% at current density of 6 A·dm-2. The electrolyte temperature and the size of an applied voltage had the most important influence.
