It is now being increasingly realized that instead of targeting the individual in the process of development, it would be more useful to adopt the approach of group development. The group approach makes available the collective wisdom and combined resources for any task. With this background, a critical study of the evaluation of the profile characteristics of the SHGsand Non SHG members was carried out. Hence the present study has been formulated with the objective i.e. to study the profile characteristics of SHG and Non SHG members. The purpose of the study was to compare the SHG and Non SHG members with respect to their profile characteristics. The diagnostic study was confined to 10 villages from which 90 SHGs and 90 Non SHG respondents were selected for the study. The result revealed that the independent sample 'Z' test showed that there was significant difference in the mean values of SHG members and Non SHG members in case of education, family size, social participation, land holding, annual income, material possession whereas, there was no significant difference in the mean values of SHG members and Non SHG members in case of age and marital status.

They rich in protein and vitamins A, B and minerals like Ca, Mg, etc. A multistage, purposively, proportionate and random sampling technique was selected for the study. The study was conducted in Saurashtra region of Gujarat state. Total 12 talukas were selected purposively in which maximum FLDs given under NMOOP and among them 16 villages were selected for the study. Therefore, to know the constraints perceived by them in taking up agriculture as a profession and to corrective measures accordingly, a study was conducted by collecting data from 120 freshly graduated students belonging to all the four State Agricultural Universities of Gujarat using multistage random sampling technique. The quantification of data was done using Rank Based Quotient (RBQ) technique. The study revealed that high cost of cultivation and low returns, high cost of agricultural inputs and farm machinery fluctuations in market price, unpredictable climate changes, risk of crop failure, high cost of labour, inadequate supply of electricity, lack of proper irrigation facilities, lack of proper storage facilities, lack of proper agricultural infrastructure, lack of financial support, discouragement from the family and friends, lack of proper transportation facilities, inadequate practical knowledge and lack of incentives from the government were the major constraints faced by them.

However, each of the components of sustainable agriculture is complex and some quantifiable measures are needed to check whether a farming system is sustainable or not. The sustainability issue of the crop productivity is fast emerging. The agricultural productivity attained during the 1980s will not been sustained during the 2020s and has posed a challenge for the researchers to shift the production function upward by improving the technology index. The yield gap analysis of major field crops and enterprises was compiled by KVK (Krishi Vigyan Kendra) team by identifying different farming situations with respect to personal interact with progressive farmers. This study was carried out with following objectives To reduce the yield gap in important crops and increase production and productivity in agriculture and allied se...

The overall objective of the present study was to analysis the economic empowerment of women though SHGs in ten villages of Amreli District of Gujarat State. Totally 180 respondents were selected from the ten villages by using simple random sampling method and 9 SHG and 9 Non SHG members were selected from the same villages for comparative study. The result revealed that the independent sample ‘Z’ test showed that there was highly significant difference in the mean values of SHG members and Non SHG members in case of components of economic empowerment of women like saving and investment, self sufficiency, knowledge about banking system and skill development.
