The study employs meticulous quantitative analysis, utilizing Spearman correlation analysis and multiple linear regression models. The investigation revealed a moderate utilization of cognitive strategies among participants, favoring rehearsal over organization strategies. Meanwhile, visual-spatial abilities are found to be at an average proficiency level, with a strong inclination towards interpretation. Participants exhibit high level of memorization efficacy, with retrieval accuracy and retention rate outperforming recall speed. Contrary to previous studies, there was no significant relationship found between cognitive strategies and memorization efficacy, while a strong correlation was found between visual-spatial abilities and memorization efficacy, which underscores the importance of incorporating more visual-spatial learning experiences into educational curricula to enhance memory retention and foster academic success among senior high school STEM students.
