The aim of this study is to suggest an usage of scenario analysis and cognitive maps together in strategic decision making process, by this modeling, offer a structure for the qualitative scenario texts by cognitive maps and establish a hierarchical structure with targets, strategies, actions which will give input to the decision making process. Also this study is supported by an application on future of automotive industry.

It has affected organizations in Turkey mostly in 2008 and 2009 and has caused a highly uncertain environment for firms from all industries. Although faced to very similar conditions, organizations responded to crisis differently and had different consequences. The aim of this study is to investigate the strategic behavior of organizations (based on Miles and Snow's Typology) in metal products and machinery industry and find out which strategy outperform the others in terms of performance (ROA) under uncertainty during the crisis time.

In this study it is aimed to verify Miles and Snow’ s strategy typology in Turkey and investigate... more In this study it is aimed to verify Miles and Snow’ s strategy typology in Turkey and investigate how firms that conduct different busine ss strategies, differ in firm performance considering ROA ratio. Research conducted with 190 firms listed in Borsa Istanbul 100 Index. Firms classified under 3 strategy typology w ith cluster analysis. The impact of independent variables ; “firm strategy”, “industry” and “firm size” on firm performance (ROA) were analysed by ANOVA and logistic regressio n. Results indicated that the best predictor of performance (ROA) is the interaction eof firm size and firm strategy.

Purpose : The aim of this study is to understand CSR in Turkey based on different sectors by anal... more Purpose : The aim of this study is to understand CSR in Turkey based on different sectors by analyzing the content and target group of the organization’s CSR activities and tries to find out if CSR activities of companies are self-homogeneous within sectors in a developing country context, Turkey. Design/methodology/approach: Using a sample of 50 companies listed in Istanbul Stock Exchange (BIST) Corporate Governance Index, company statements have been examined by content analysis in order to discover contents and target groups of CSR activities. Hierarchical cluster analysis conducted in terms of CSR activities. Findings: Results show that, CSR activities of organizations which are in the same sector are not similar to each other in terms of their content and target group. Based on these results, it is possible to say that sector specific factors do not seem to be decisive on CSR activities of organizations in Turkey.
