This article aims to forecast the landscape of India's teacher education programme in the year 2040. It explores the current state of teacher education in India, as well as recent global trends in the field. The authors outline and clarify forthcoming teacher education policies in India based on a comprehensive examination of policy papers, research articles, documents, and various online resources. They predict that by 2040, India will have a teacher education program centered on technology, innovation, sustainability, and ethics, driven by artificial intelligence. The authors highlight the significance of establishing a robust teacher education system that prioritizes the development of skilled, proficient, flexible, inventive, imaginative, and technology-savvy teachers and teacher educators. This entails designing programs and resources that equip educators with the necessary knowledge, skills, and tools to excel in their roles amidst the evolving landscape of education. It emphasizes the need for continuous professional development and adaptation to new technologies and pedagogical approaches to meet the diverse needs of learners and effectively navigate the challenges of modern education.

So did the National policy on Education 1986 emphasize: "The status of the teacher reflects the socio-cultural ethos of the socity, it is said that no people can rise above the level of its teachers." Such exhortations are indeed and expression of the important role played by the teachers as transmitters, inspirers and promoters of man's eternal quest for knowledge. In this regard teacher education becomes an essential part of educational system. To prepare effective, skill full and humane teacher, pre-service as well as in-service teacher programmes have come into the scenario of education. This framework encourages students to study various subjects, aiming to equip them with broader knowledge and skills for a rapidly changing world. Multidisciplinary Courses are a vital part of the new curriculum and syllabus framework designed for the undergraduate level. This paper presents a study conducted among 1st-semester students at Udaynarayanpur Madhabilata Mahavidyalaya who have opted for Multidisciplinary Courses (MDC). The study's investigator developed a 3-point rating scale to collect data on different aspects of MDC using Google Forms, covering dimensions like Difficulty Level, Institutional Infrastructure, Importance, Student Motivation, and Career Opportunities. A total of 267 responses were received through Google Forms. A standardized norm was established for the rating scale, and a specific scoring procedure was employed. Quantitative methods were used to analyse the collected data. The study findings indicate that Multidisciplinary Courses appear to pose complexity and difficulty for undergraduate students, although they offer a significant advantage by introducing students to a variety of disciplines, potentially benefiting their future job prospects. The institution's infrastructure is found to be unsatisfactory, particularly concerning adequate teaching staff, conducive learning environments, and supportive administrative attitudes. The guidelines for examinations are currently unclear to students. However, students expressed satisfaction with the college's library books and laboratory facilities. Despite their hopes for a brighter future through MDC, students exhibit less motivation regarding the course structure and in-depth study. The investigator of the study has suggested several recommendations for the effective implementation of MDC.

To conclude, the researchers used qualitative and descriptive approaches, focusing on document analysis. Several research questions were formulated, and research objectives were framed accordingly. The objectives were analysed, and conceptual descriptions were provided accordingly. It has been revealed that we can expect to experience a transformed education system in India that is flexible, inclusive, and skill-based shortly. The study identified that the components of an inclusive society in India include systematic social categorization, social, educational, and economic status of underrepresented groups, social disparity, geographical location, socioeconomic gaps among different socio-religious groups, socioeconomic disadvantaged groups (SEDGs), the female population, disabled or differently-able children and adults and an inclusive school environment. It also finds that social stratification, cultural diversity, external attributions, hierarchical structures, and the marginalization of social groups, including those defined by caste, gender, and disability, are key sources of exclusion. The intervention programs initiated in line with the vision of NEP 2020 represent a positive approach by policymakers. However, they still need to be adequately implemented due to insufficient funds and specific policy implementation issues. Hence, future research on this issue should focus on stakeholder awareness and implementation challenges to find solutions.
